Question about payment for services

I'm from Russia. Tell me how popular it is among customers in the US to pay for freelance services by transferring money to a debit card? In general, what methods of payment for services are practiced in the United States?

Is transfer to a debit card not practiced at all?

I'll be honest, I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about. How would one transfer money to someone's debit card? What service would they use?

If that were the only option to pay for services, I'd find a different vendor.

        Agree with the above comment.

Someone in the US may pay for grocery's or other items at a well known chain. But they would not allow giving their debit it card to some unknown user. A company like Ebay or Amazon has made it so a user can pay for a item with a debit card. But they do not have the card on record. The safe way is using a Credit Card or a pre-paid card.

If you are looking to sell to US individuals or business. The information is in the 2nd post, if not please give us some more details.

I use my debit card all the time with PayPal, because they have the number recorded in their system. The card is actually a Visa card (some banks offer a MasterCard variant), but it can only use funds that are physically in the account.

But the question was how to transfer money *to* a debit card. That's a strange transaction request. Maybe it's a translation error. That's why I asked for specifics.

This could only be meaning a pre-paid card which you can top up.

That is what he means. If you want to pay someone off-book (sans cash) nowadays...that's how it is done.

It's fairly popular and has been for a few years, but if you don't hire a bunch of undocumented or illegal or disenfranchised or get paid that way yourself, then there is no reason to know it exists.

Also, I use them as a tool for the kids because it teaches responsibility.

Edit: I did not answer sooner because in some circles they are considered black-hat.
I'm sure you can figure out how.

I assume there's absolutely no buyer protection that way, too.

Smacks of complete scam to me. I'm not saying the OP is a scammer, though. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't (I lean to isn't since he asked the question). But I wouldn't use a vendor who requested payment that way.

                    That's because you're old.

The cardholder chooses how to register them.

Meaning...you are supposed to register them with a real name and SS,
but it's not required and you don't need a ID when using an ATM.

All clear. In Russia, the practice of transferring money from card to card. Including for the work of freelancers. I see everything differently with you. [link removed by mod]
