I heard they are remaking Scarface. Not sure of the thought process on that one. That would be akin to remaking The Godfather. You could never make it better

Recently got to watch Godzilla VS Kong and Mortal Kombat on HBO Max as well as the Directors Cut of Justice League with my son and I was pretty surprised to say they were very impressive especially considering the quality of movies lately I give all three a 9/10 go watch them!

Still waiting for the latest Bond movie (the last with Daniel Craig). It was supposed to be out in 2020, but the release has been put off until October this year.

Have been waiting a long, long, long time for "No Time To Die" to actually release in theaters. I hope Daniel Craig ends his time as Bond on a very high note.

Looking forward to the new version of "Dune" as well

Many Saints Of Newark Should be releasing on October 1st. Does anyone know if it will be available on the HBO Max Application or in theaters only?

He's my least favorite bond. Sean Connery was my top pick.

  • Just watched the new Mortal Kombat movie. My husband and daughter enjoyed it. They've been playing the game for years and it was really fun for them to see those moves in the big screen. I didn't know who most of those characters are but I understood the story. I think that's a good sign that it might have mainstream appeal.

      That reminds me.

When the first Mortal Combat movie came out, I asked my wife if she wanted to see it. She asked me if I wanted to see it. I think we both said something like "If you want to see it, I'll see it with you".

About 3/4ths of the way through the movie, I asked her why she wanted to see it. She said "I didn't want to see it. I thought you wanted to see it"

      We walked out.

Of course, I haven't matured at all in the last 30 years, so I think I'll do that again.

In the 60's, as a young kid, my sister and I were dragged by my parents to the large, but only one film at a time showing cinema in our town, to see the musical: "South Pacific". The line stretched around the block. I remember nothing of that film but I do remember when arriving home and getting into bed that a "Plate Spider" came into my room. Yep, not just a kids perception, a spider with a very large body and legs that stretched out as wide as a dinner plate. This was something that belonged in a zoo and probably had come over on some banana's to live out it's short life thanks to the British weather. We have nothing like that in the UK.

I shouted to my parents about the spider but was told not to be such a cissy. So, I got out of bed and hit it's formidable body with a hair brush. This completely unfazed the beast who went out of reach under a chair. For some reason I gave up, got back into bed and fell asleep, never saw it again. When I told my parents the next day, about it's size, they did not believe me, nor did any of my friends. That was far more annoying than being dragged to a movie I did not want to see.

You may not believe this, but in the 1960s I was experimenting with biology, trying to create giant animals. I also was working with teleporters. One day there was an accident in my lab. A spider was enlarged to be the size of a dinner plate, and it was instantly teleported.

It wasn't until just now that I realized where it went...because it teleported back to my lab and told me this ridiculous story about being attacked by a weird kid with a British accent, armed with a hair brush.

The worst part is, I didn't believe Gert's story. Oh, the spider's name was Gert.

And weirdly, Gert used to be spelled Gurt...and nobody believes me that suddenly the spelling of my spider's name changed.

  • I would pay to see a Marvel/DC remake of Thelma & Louise featurin' Mary Jane Watson an' Lois Lane.

    They hire a chevy.

They take on Doc Ock an' Lex Looothure.

"With these villains out of the way, our boys will be OURS."

Only ... they fall in love.

1st 10 mins of the movie is setup.

Next 20 mins is fight scenes.

Remainin' 75 minutes is hot tub action.

Who needs Rotten Tomatoes when you got Ripe Strawbs?

0 out of 10 for all of them.

    Western movies are already terrible.

    Video game movies even moreso.

Having a character with pancake personality works if you're playing a 25 cents arcade game and you're kindly expected to lose in 2-3 minutes.

It doesn't work if you have to sit through a 2 hours movie.

Zero for the Western movie industry is quite generous but I am in a good mood.

I just watched The Mandela Effect on Amazon Prime. It's finally free to watch (for Prime Members).

if you already believe in the Mandela effect, like every reviewer of this movie does....you'll watch and keep saying to yourself "Finally, the truth is out there".

If you're not, it's a decent short science fiction movie.

It mixes "The universe is a computer simulation" meme with the "There are multiple universes" idea.

I'm assuming you really saw it already. If not, it will be like watching porn to you.

I like that they got an actor that strongly resembles Morgan Freeman. 98% as good, at 5% the cost.

No really, not seen, but I have Prime so will be able to. I will probably see the alt reality version of it though that does actually have Morgan Freeman in it because it changed. They already have the adult version out: "This Ain't The Mandela Effect". Different actresses every time you watch it.

I finally got around to watching this movie. Interestingly I thought it was around 90 minutes but it was less than 1 hour 20, did they trim it, or was it Mandeled? It looked like it had been trimmed?

At first I thought it was a dramatized documentary like "What The Bleep" as it was highlighting some of the things that had really been talked about, but then it turned more into a drama about his alleged craziness, but towards the end it all became a tables turned on his wife thing and of course his child was back, She became the alleged crazy one not accepting it. But then he re-programs the quantum computer having miraculously picked up the ability to write 4.3 gigs of amazing code, so the computer could somehow put it out there and fix it all?. I have far more belief in the Mandela Effect itself than the crazy storyline of this film. I suppose it reminded me of a much longer "Dust" sifi short like you can find on You-tube.

Interesting that they included the man experiencing a tingling sensation and ringing in the ears when changes happen, that has been reported by many people. Also I thought they would have made more of the Lion and the Lamb quote that the priest was saying in church having changed, I thought the man would point it out to him.

Not great, not bad, but could have been a lot better.

As I suspected though, that was Morgan Freeman in a longer hair wig. Not fooled for a second there. Lol

Black Widow and The Suicide Squad are coming quickly as theaters reopen. 2021 is a massive year for blockbuster films as we capture 2020 movies behind schedule with the aid because of the coronavirus pandemic. James Bond journey No Time to Die, Marvel's Black Widow, Fast and Furious sequel F9 and lots of greater were given rescheduled because of the pandemic, even as massive-finances flicks like Without Remorse, Mortal Kombat and Godzilla vs Kong break onto streaming services.

Last two movies recently watched in theaters:

    No Time To Die
In my opinion it was one of the best Bond films ever made. Solid 10/10 movie even if you are not a diehard Bond film you will enjoy it. Definitely catch it in theaters Imax or Dolby Atmos you will not regret it!

    Venom: Let There Be Carnage
It had a few funny moments but other than that definitely not worth a movie ticket. I give it a 4/10. Its one of those movies you catch on Netflix or TV when they release it. If you do go see it in theaters do not make the mistake of leaving until you see the extra scene at the end. I left without seeing it lol.

So happy we decided to watch Dune in Dolby Atmos Theaters and not just at home on the HBO Max app, if you watched the original Dune you should most definitely catch this one in theaters as well as anyone who knows absolutely nothing you will enjoy this movie. A stunning visually impressive movie with a 10/10 Cast of Actors, Story Telling and overall enjoyable movie. It was so nice to take a break from all the Superhero themed movies for once

Agreed, visually impressive, but l streamed it since it was three hours in the cinema, which makes it less enjoyable at the end.

And without going into the details too much, the spice miner scene about half way through the movie, phew, reminded me of Star Wars, l could watch that over and over it was done so well.

This isn't as ugly as the first, or it cuts out the weirdness and concentrates more on the story and visuals, which is great.

I would give it 8/10, mainly because l wanted more of the scenes, previously discussed.

I saw "Clifford The Big Red Dog" on the free Paramount App showing yesterday, with my friend and her grandkids.

Pretty awful storyline, kept the kids happy and the CGI dog effects were good.

This was not of the storytelling caliber of Bedknob's and Broomsticks and similar films of that nature. Just so you know.

The Movie "House of Gucci" was okay but.... was not great. It was a little boring, tbh. We saw it last night at the theater , and I thought it would center more about the initial genesis of Gucci and how it all got started but it kind of started in the middle of it all.

Lady Gaga did play an impressive role.

Give it 7 out of 10

thanks for this thread! There's a breand new fantastic mini doc series on Netflix I just saw last night that cuts right to the heart of film lovers called VOIR. The first episode was a recap of what life was like in 1975 during the Summer of the Shark! And I'm confident you know which shark I'm referring to!
