Embarrassing Music You Like

Do you have any music that you love but are kind of embarrassed about?

I like hard rock of the southern fried variety and 80s pop/disco which is easily explained and "normal."

But I also like the Carpenters, Air Supply, Chicago, and Barry Manilow. LOL

Depending on who I'm with the second group may not get mentioned.

I can accept the rest, but Barry Manilow is a capitol offence.

I like Abba. The songs are beautifully crafted with great melodies and singing. And the two new ones they released are as good as ever. Not cool though as I am a hardcore prog rock fan.

Nothing wrong with that, Barry Manilow did do one good song, and as you probably already know l have done a pretty thorough search, through 60, pop music up to mainly 80's.

But most embarrassing, hmmm, has to be this one.

Rick Dees - DISCO DUCK (1976)

Why, this one from the comments section pretty much sums it up.
didn't wanna say this on todd's video but a part of me unironically enjoys this song and that's probably my worst trait as a human being

I don't know why I didn't mention the Bee Gees. They are right up there. Before he got weird, I even liked Michael Jackson's music.

Abba, Anne Murray (one album), Yanni (one recording), Meat Loaf cd's 1&2 (but not 3), some Foreigner, willie nelson and Adele. Placido Domingo and Tchaikovsky to get me out of a rut and an old Kris Kristofferson cd with some great songs on it. I have strange tastes.

I was actually playing an old Beach Boys CD in the car last summer and realized I turned it way down when I pulled into the supermarket parking lot...embarrassing to be listening to the Beach Boys.... I like the BeeGees, too, but I seldom admit that.

I sold my studio piano when I moved north a few years ago but have an excellent digital piano and a cabinet full of music of all kinds...I don't listen to Manilow but I do play his music on occasion...and play some ragtime, too.

I like a broad and diverse range of music - anything from the Carpenters to the Prodigy and all points in between, as well as Classical. But I don't get embarrassed about it. I'll play it whoever is listening, although in company, I can almost always find something from my collection that the present audience appreciates.

Everyone's taste in music is personal. If someone happens to think mine is embarrassing, that's up to them. They obviously don't know what they're talking about.

Unfortunately though, it's difficult to get equipment to play your 78's on these days.

That's OK. Most of my friends' hearing is shot anyway.
