Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

I originally saw these in the Movie theaters.
A Christmas Story back in 83' with my best childhood friends. And "Xmas Vacation" back in January 90' at the dollar theater with college roommates ( yes, it was a dollar because it was playing after the regular run in December.)

I think those are the only ones I record and watch.
Cheryl likes Miracle on 34th Street.

I really liked Groundhog Day., but don't record it anymore.

And of course, any of the Christmas episodes of Family Guy, The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, South Park, Robot Chicken, Archer.

If I were forced to stay at home, I could watch Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and Archer (Maybe Futurama too) all day.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

I have watched Groundhog Day so many times it feels like I have experienced as many days as Bill Murry did.

It was a tradition to watch the premiere on tv of the last Bond movie after the Queens speech on the BBC. Do they still do that.

O.H.M.S.S. Not the best but you must have had a crush on Diana Rigg. I certainly would not be watching it for George Lazenby's acting.

Well duh. Of course I had a crush on Diana Rigg - who didn't? OHMSS is my favourite Bond, not just for her, but for the Swiss Alps, the snow, the skiing, the cable cars, the bobsleighs, ice skating at Christmas, Louis Armstrong performing the best of all Bond tunes ..oh, and did I mention Diana Rigg?

The need for acting ability to play Bond is overrated. You just have to look the part. Lazenby's lines were even overdubbed on some scenes to disguise his Aussie accent. It really didn't matter.

BTW, I love Groundhog Day, but is it a Christmas movie when it takes place in February?

Yeah, they had to edit his adlib lines like: Q "What can I get you sir? A: "Stick another shrimp on the Barbie and a can of Fosters mate"

Yes, Diana Rigg sitting astride a Bobsleigh in a leotard, it does not get better than that.

Diana Rigg was my fist fantasy crush.

I was a huge fan of The Avengers with her and Patrick Macnee.

Years later, I figured out that the reason she was so fascinating to me had less to do with her and more to do with the fact that The Avengers was coming on TV at exactly the same time I discovered that girls weren't Yucky.

I used to part my hair as a kid. I started combing my hair like Patrick Macnee after I watched a few episodes.

As far as George Lazenby goes....he was a car salesman and model. He never acted (other than a few commercials) before. The Directors wanted him to stay as Bond, but he didn't want to do it anymore.

He was in a few lower budget movies, and then quit acting. Occasionally being in a cameo as a Bond like character.

But he certainly looked the part.

Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim. Have not seen it on T.V. recently.

Wonderful Life. Seen it so many times I skipped it the past few years.

I forgot: Diehard. I have it on when my wife's family comes over Christmas Day as it always elicits a tense discussion of what constitutes a "Christmas movie".

I just stand in the corner and chuckle. I like to watch the world burn.

Until the last few years I would always watch certain movies such as:
It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St (both versions if they aired) and I would definitely watch the televised Christmas at the Bowl, where the famous singers would sing seasonal songs.

But, in recent years, it varies a lot according to my mood. I am always alone on the day so sometimes I just run a Marvel Marathon instead.

I will Robert. Due to time differences I know some will be in here and I don't intend watching TV all day and night. I have good books to read and I can have a snooze too.

Ahhhhh...Claude, you reminded me. Groundhog Day. I sometimes watch that too.

My entertainment world greatly changed when I moved 4 years ago and immediately had Broadband Internet and access to streaming channels such as Netflix. I find I can go for weeks and barely watch anything free-to-air, unless I had the TV on while making dinner.
