Can we compare Chromecast with Google TV and Amazon Firestick

I am finally up for buying one of these devices. Can anyone recommend to me which one to go for between Chromecast with Google TV or Amazon Firestick?

Please share your views only if you have used both of these devices.

  • I have both and prefer the Firestick. However, I'm closely aligned with the Amazon ecosystem. Your situation may be different.
  • Would not a modestly priced smart tv have all those apps available anyway. Unless you wish to add extra's. The Amazon smart tv sold in Best Buy has about 4 gigs of storage

    • Smart TVs have notoriously crappy apps, are among the last to get updated apps (if ever), and the apps can disappear overnight depending on the arrangement with the manufacturer and the app provider (this last one can happen with a streaming box, too, but with less frequency).

      That said, Amazon does put out some nice Fire TVs. The TCLs are actually very good sets for the money. But the OP asked a specific question. He might have a perfectly good TV and just wants a stick.
