My love-hate relationship with the ocean and sun...

I love the smells, the sounds , and the sights of the ocean . With all the wildlife like pelicans, dolphins, and seagulls .. well it really is just mesmerizing.

What I cannot stand is sun burn and having to put on gobs of sunscreen on my body only to still get burnt. Being in the sun is just no fun .

So as I write this iam sitting under a shaded patio at our condo really enjoying the ocean which is only about 10 yards from where I sit.

Damn those umbrellas that either get blown away in the sand or you have to constantly move because the tide keeps coming up

That's for the birds lol

    I live by the sea, but in my country the sun is a welcome visitor rather than a problem. In any case, there's always the early morning, late evening or even the night to enjoy beach walks.

    It's only the clueless holidaymakers who seem to think lying in the sun for hours on end is a good idea.

      Yeah I agree. Went out and ran at 6 this morning. And later in the afternoon went in short spurts of getting a little wet in the ocean only to jog back to my shaded patio

        I always joked with you saying that you lived in a trailer next to the one occupied by Kelly Felix, the Rich Jerk. You said he lived next door to you once. Is that true?

          No, not me. I talked about him on here years ago. But never lived near him or in a trailer next to him.

          I think you must be getting confused with the 'dungeon' trailer Claude occupies part of the year next to Dan

            Claude got a great deal on a Gelati ice cream, and Hot Dog vans and sure they are rusted and barely roadworthy, but he chainsawed the ends out and spliced them together using Walmark heavy duty plastic tape and bubblegum.

            And he has his own home away from home.

            Dan never visits though, (the bio-hazard and crime scene tape around Claude's property puts him off).

    Sounds more like a frickin' zoo than a beach.

    Yeah, for sure I could swonky out all magnificent an' burn up in the sun.

    But I figure a shade, a book, an' plenty anti-sun schloppy schloopy about my person marks me out as a gal on a srs mission.

    I so love ticklin' the sand with my feet as I reach the climax of a neato story.

    It is rare for me to orient goobers aside with subtle movements of my nipples from beneath the swimwear I inhabit, so I guess what happened next was a protective reflex.

    The guy pulled out a net augmented with dolphin'-retainin' plastic sheetin' an hopped ovah the doons in the direction layed out by muh twirlin' strawbos.

    That is when I lost the plot regardin' all hoomanity, fell asleep by accident, an' woke up 5 hours latah lookin' like no flamin' buttfest ain't sittin' down noplace for like a week.

    There are sometimes I begin to wonder whether I'm a child from the sea if you believe in that kind of superstition because I have come to realise that whenever I'm near water especially beach, there's a kind of calmness that my soul feels.

    This is why I don't miss out going to the beach whenever I can especially during the weekends, if I don't have any major commitments.
