New Car Arrived from Austria

Greetings Folks,

After a 3.5-month wait, my car finally arrived. To say that it is a beast would be a major understatement. Normally, I give my cars female nicknames, but not this time. After 15 minutes behind the wheel, it virtually named itself. "THOR!" lol

Had the wheels powder coated to go from black to brass. Very pleased with the outcome. Going back to the shop next week for a full ceramic coating. All that's left is to install my Sirius XM radio account and I am good to go until the weather turns cold and it goes into storage until next spring. Between now and then I plan to basically live in the car. :-)

I have managed to wind-down my business activities and have stopped taking any and all new work from current clients and those looking to hire me. It has been a rough transition, but at least now I can devote whatever time I want to my own projects without feeling guilty that I am neglecting a client's needs while doing so. I have kept my oldest client as his monthly invoice pays for the car and the insurance. I thank him every week for covering my new ride and he's happy to do it. lol

I hope that you folks are doing well and gearing up for a fantastic summer. I plan to take a few road trips this summer so I'll stop by to post some pics of my travels.

Be well and stay safe!

Cheers,

Big Frank

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

That is one sharp looking automobile. The brass was definitely the right choice on the wheels. It would be fun to take that to NJ Motorsports Park and take a few laps. Enjoy it you deserve it.

Yes, I am quite pleased with the choice as I was a bit worried about how it would turn out. I was afraid it would look more golden, which would be a bit too hip-hop for my exquisite taste. lol

That's about 3 miles from my front door. They have an all-day event where you get training in the morning by a certified driver and then laps in the afternoon. I will be signing up for that. :-)

It's disgusting that a man your age should have a car like that, it's nothing more than male prowess projection. I wonder if you will trade that in when Apple brings out it's all electric?

I have course have a 2016 Prius, a real mans car. Interestingly enough, yesterday I Kelly Blue-booked it and it was worth 24k, two grand less than I paid for it. All thanks to the chip shortage and supply breakdown. Not bad for a six year old vehicle.

I'll be dead by then. This is my last set of wheels!

Not bad at all. This puppy was $82k by the time it pulled into my driveway. I'm still a bit shell-shocked. But, as they say, "You can't take it with you." If BMW is crazy enough to give a 74-year-old Boomer a 7-year loan at 1.99%, shame on them. They can come to collect the last few year's payments at my penthouse in Hell. :-) lol

I'm sure you will not be going to Hell Frank. I expect you will go to the same place Claude goes to. On second thoughts?

Yes, a bit strange to give a man of your mature years such a loan. But if you used your home owner status as security then perhaps that's how they collect. I have no idea how it works? Perhaps it's just insured.

My car has been sitting out for a while, rather isolated myself thanks to the pandemic. It probably will need a bit of work. At first I thought, yeah, get it roadworthy and sell it for that price or perhaps a little less. But if It gets roadworthy I could also use it for a few more years, then get a new one. Car lot's are a little sparce at the moment and may be for some time to come. Toyota, my favored brand are going to convert all their cars to hybrid but that's an if and when thing.

82k for a car. My ex-wife bought a house for a little more than that in Arkansas, but then, who would want to live there, lol.

They won't let Claude into Hell. They wouldn't want to lower their standards!

No. The loan is secured by the value of the car when sold at auction and if I'm dead, they just lose the difference. Credit is just a game. I have 46 credit cards. Every time I apply for a new one, based on one of their solicitations, I figure they are bound to say no this time. They have never said no. Not once. You really don't want to know how much available credit I have on those cards, but my utilization rate is just 1%. The figure is astounding. lol

Drive that puppy until it blows up. :-)

Not a big deal, There were only a few things on my bucket list and this checked the last box. This is my dream car so it just made sense to do it.

That would fit in the glovebox ofmy 4 wheeler.

I was recently wondering if you were still kicking, Frank. Glad to see you still are, they just don't make them like you anymore.

FYI - I have it on good authority that I will be a gatekeeper in hell. Niether you or Claude are getting in on my watch.

For a little while, yet. Winding down quickly. lol

Most people would see that as a good thing!

Actually, I'm already there checking out the accommodations.

Well, that was how the majority of my income was made up until I recently retired. The car is my retirement gift to me. The entrepreneur's gold watch! :-)

And then, you get to stomp on the gas pedal. This is the point where orgasmic actually turns into an orgasm. lol
