Remebering 30 years ago like it was yesterday....

I remember March 1992 like it was yesterday. So vivid and so clear. I was visiting my first girlfriend ever at a motel she and her family were staying at.

They were a bunch of gypties living from motel to motel. I remember drinking beer with them and watching SNL with Garth Brooks whose first experience it was on that show.

Man, time flies !!

    Yes, that's true.

I was in the first year of middle school, but I don't remember that period well, I only have a few flashes, like my first crush...

Yeah, that was the year they discontinued the Atari 2600, and were showing tantalizing sneak previews of the revolutionary Super Mario for the Nintendo 64 game console, (back then it was all in Game magazines).

And around the time l finally got enough money together for the Atari 800XL, (which l still have even though the transformer is shot).

That was also the time, people were noticing the decline in the music industry.

    I remember every little thing
As if it happened only yesterday
    Parking by the lake
And there was not another car in sight
And I never had a girl
Looking any better than you did
    ...

Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light
    Ain't no doubt about it
    We were doubly blessed
    'Cause we were barely seventeen
    And we were barely dressed
    ...

    Gotta love Meatball

An interesting idea but I'm more a cat person. I have been tempted but being pet free is quite liberating, not to mention cleaner.

You're still young. Your mind is young.

You are right about time flying. About a year ago, I saw a guy I went to school with in a store. He recognized me, and I had no idea who he was. He described the fun we had and the classes we shared. Still no idea. I didn't recognize his name.

I could tell he felt a little hurt, so I told him (truthfully) that I had almost no memories of my younger life or high school. Even my first marriage is just a few brief images I can remember. I have learned how to sort of fake remembering people. But my school friend could tell, I think.

I talked about this with a friend of mine who is a psychologist. He's the one that tested me for psychopathy. He told me the reason I have so few memories of my earlier life is that I wasn't emotionally engaged with other people.

I think I have mentioned this here before...but you can name a month and year for over 30 years and I can tell you what exactly I was doing at that time, job I had, my mindset, and even word for word conversations I had with all kinds of different types of people etc...etc...

I'm strange in that way lol
