He changes all the cards from what he first showed you...so of course, your card won't be in the second showing.

Old trick really that I had seen before, but when I see a video that makes no sense, I simply read the comments. Someone always has an answer.

I figured that out on the second watch through but I broke the rules I picked the suit instead of the card. So the third watch just confirmed he change the suit of the cards.

I picked the King card, so he doesn't seem to be doing anything, apart from knowing the most common association.

Good call people Exactly what I thought he did. When he shows the cards and quickly says pick one, you hone in on one and pay no attention to the rest. So he quickly squares them up and does the sleight of hand switch. Cards and suits are a similar mix but different than the first show. So, of course your card is never there.

I knew someone in the comments would know the answer, so I didn't look.

I knew someone here would know the answer, so I didn't look.

it took me one pass to know that it didn't matter which card I chose, and it took another pass to know that each hand just has entirely different cards, so no matter what you chose, it wouldn't be there. The illusion is that the other cards are still the same as before.

More of an optical illusion, or memory trick than a card trick.

I remember at a conference once they showed a video of guys playing basketball. As the game was going, a guy in a gorilla suit walked through the players.

I don't think anyone else in the audience saw it. And the audience was stunned when they were told about the gorilla, and the video was played back.

How did I see the gorilla? I wasn't looking at the players.

Claude the trick with the gorilla suit was the audience was asked to count how many times the team in a certain color shirt passed the ball.

Yeah. Clubs and spades are reversed. Hearts and diamonds are reversed. So, if you aren't paying attention to the cards you didn't pick, it looks like the same cards.

But all the cards are changed. So it doesn't matter which card you hoose.
