Restaurant for sale...

Where would you advertise for trying to sell a restaurant? The owner doesn't want to do any local advertising, because then he'd lose all of his employees. Are there any restaurant trade magazines that do that kind of advertising? I tried googling for some, but didn't come up with any options.

Thanks for any advice!

Uhmm can you advertise with Google adds? I don't know how it worked for you or your client...

What kind of publicity does your client want?

If it is online you could try with simple adds may be.

I sold one of my restaurants in Denver in 1984 by placing a 3 line ad in the Rocky Mountain News with a voice mail number that had a 3 minute message that gave callers just enough info to get them to leave me their info. I wasn't going to pay 15% to a business broker. Sold it for $80,000 (my asking price) with $20,000 down in 27 days!

Test a blind ad on Craigslist... hell of a lot cheaper to test there!

Thanks for the ideas - I may have to try Craigslist. It's a large chain restaurant, so the asking price is....pricey. That's why I wondered if there was a trade magazine specifically for restaurant owners. Craigslist may bring a bunch of tire kickers?
