I usually don't follow too much College Basketball. Being in the New York City market the news is dominated by the professional sports teams in the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL the college teams get very little attention till March Madness. There was a few seconds that mentioned Rutger's win yesterday. But in this area, they always mention St.Johns. This area also has Seton Hall Pirates and other schools mentioned from time to time. Plus they will add in Women's Basketball.

I have only been to the Holiday Classic games at Madison Square Graden twice when a friend used to work in the area. That is probably the only two times I watched a whole game.

This Rutgers player did a good thing.

"Cliff Omoruyi is known for his powerhouse dunks.

But the Rutgers University junior only started playing basketball at age 14, just before his family in Nigeria sent him to New Jersey.

"It was just to get a better education," Omoruyi told CBS News.

Omoruyi, who leads Rutgers in points and rebounds this season, And as one of the best players in the Big Ten Conference, he has earned $25,000 in endorsements. In honor of Oliver, he's donated all that money to revitalize the basketball court at the Salvation Army Center. "

Also looks like they have a very good team, so far this Season.

Some big upsets in March Madness. Furman had the buzzer beater against Virginia. And Princeton took down 2nd seat Arizona. Love this time of year

FDU was the bracket-buster the other day, with a big upset. Doubt they will go anywhere, but interesting that a basically unknown team in the area. Pulls off a major upset, guess that is one reason the game is so popular.
