Now lets get one thing straight, you are going to see a Rapper. Someone who speaks urban street poetry to various backing beats. You are going to pay good money, money that your wife earned for this. I am outraged. At your age you should be either seeing aged progressive rock bands or tribute bands to them. People who play real music, real songs. Not this twaddle that passes for "music" these days.

I'm sending my posse over to vet your cd and record collection and look at all the history of your online streaming accounts. I hope there will be something that gives you at least a bit of redemption and credibility.

Agreed l thought that he was talking about Ned Kelly, but he died some time ago in my country, then though maybe Discrat is talking about someone from New Zealand, (NZ has a lot of horses) but that didn't make much sense?

          Then l didn't have a clue.

But after finding over 1100 hit songs over the years from the 50's to usually 80's can attest to our present music industry being in an elevator.

I even had the misfortune to walk into a puzzle shop yesterday and had to endure some modern remake of a Divinyls hit song which was really bad.

"and put his "sh!t" out there for everybody to see"

      Never a truer word spoken.

Oh, the cow kicked Nelly, in the belly, in the barn
The cow kicked Nelly in the belly in the barn
Oh, the cow kicked Nelly. in the belly, in the barn
But the doctor said it wouldn't do his belly any harm.

Yeah, l did a search and found some of his hit songs.

Country Grammer, (Hot Shit),....that is the name, honest

Thicky Thick Girl,.....(probably a love song or a swipe at blondes)?
Hot in Heere, (not mi-spelt, well it is actually, lets hope that Laurence isn't about).
Pimp Juice,....(l don't want to know).
Stick Out Ya Wrist,....now that sounds promising!

Clearly a genius with bad grammer.

The grammar is fine because that is the way the audience tends to speak. Or after a few steel reserves or hurricanes and a little smoke of aromatics. The sound and beat works in an altered state.

Years ago, I saw Willie Nelson at the Houston Rodeo. (not by choice). Man, that guy had the vocal range of a tadpole and sang his songs only roughly in time with the music.

I have some respect for him however because he wrote a few good songs and mercifully, most of them were hits for other people who could sing.

Ok, let's give Nelly a chance, or l ran through his top ten songs. With this one being the standout, (l won't dare post the lyrics here).

And this one which has a half decent beat to it, but the lyrics phew.

Hot in Heeeeere, (that was intentional) wasn't bad but not that good, the rest were pretty bad.

Just someone who wrote a few hit songs, and is doing his part in corrupting the music industry and destroying the fabric of society, nothing new then.

Hey I like those songs I listened to them. Moved to some nickelback rockstar, then over to kpop with 2n1.. then to Hyuna change. And I think I'll end with despacito

I wish my cellphone had decent speakers though.

The parts of society I generally walk in had the fabric torn up long ago. Can't blame the music the music is the result

If you want something you might enjoy search for Sungha jung. Start with come together from the Beatles

Then if you want to hear greatness to be. Nandi bushel

Come together no thanks heard that about 20,000 times over my life, but if Sungha whatever is Lennons girlfriend already ran through her songs with a few noteworthy ones there.

And l believe that the Beatles have jamming sessions of their songs on possibly Netflix, so if you can handle the hour or so, you can see how they developed the most thrashed songs in human history.

I just heard someone explaining this to someone else. I think the explanation works and I'll add something to it. If you have not lived the life the person is singing or rapping about. It is hard to relate.
I have been in and around the ghetto or the hood much of my life. But I had no desire to be involved with and was able to stay out of the more violent and criminal activity. So I can't really relate or enjoy and because of a certain word the appears regularly I can't sing along if I wanted to.

But the bubble gumish as you call it club or picknick party music I can enjoy because I've been involved in some of what gets put in those lyrics.
