It's work anymore ...

Working out has become like a job anymore for me. It just seems like a never ending "conveyor belt".

I finished my workout today finishing for the week. I get a break tomorrow. But then it's back to "work" on Monday with my 4:30 am 4 mile run.

Anyway, thank you Kay for indulging me with this post. It is just therapeutic for me and I hope people are not tired of my workout rants

Sometimes it feels like work - it's even in the name. There is a reason it's not called 'funningout'.

Change it up - have to admit I cannot imagine doing anything productive at 4 am...that is inhuman to me. No rule that you must do it every day or 5 times a week...run some days, work out with weights or other training in between.

I've never run 4 miles/day - for a long time I did 2 miles a day but in the evening as it cooled down. I know the world looks good really early in the AM but I find it looks better if I'm sitting in the swing on the patio than if I am vigorously moving.

To me, the training isn't the running. It's the getting up before sunrise every day to do something you don't enjoy.

In my view, that strengthens you more than the running, in many different ways.

Honestly, the only things that would get me up at 4:30 every morning would be feeding the cats, answering the phone, or taking my wife to the hospital.

My hat is off to anyone who shows the discipline that Robert shows.

It's going well. Thanks for asking.

Cheryl and I are really pretty quiet people socially. We occasionally go out with my in-laws for dinner, or to a museum....that sort of thing.

But our days are spent doing boring "Retired people" things. I write, and she does artwork. We both read quite a lot.

We've only been on one proper vacation in 35 years. But we aren't "wishing" we could go on trips, it's just not something we want to do. Maybe a trip to the Grand Canyon...places like that. Make a week of it.

But we live in a very nice home, in a great little town. Happy as clams.

Isn't it strange that, on this Forum, a small group of us have never met.....I've never talked to anyone on the phone or in person except Dan Riffle. But we still see each other as friends?

Mark gave us a scare recently, and I actually worried about him...a man I've never seen, talked to, or met. We feel a loss when we find out that a member has died. We worry about them when they are ill.

For all I know, I've been trading stories with a group of AI Avatars. Evil Avatars.

And in the case of Mark, I'm almost sure of it.

I am your Artificial Intimidator. Obviously not enough, going to have to step up my game. A fuel cell recently blew in my mechanical body lubrication pump. I was able to secure a used replacement from the remains of the T101 that was featured in the documentary: "Terminator 3" Hopefully it will give me a shelf life of a few more years.

Rest assured old friend (emphasis on the old) Should my beliefs on life after death turn out to be true, if I die first, I will attempt to, just one time, to breathe in your ear and say, it's all true. see you soon.

I have recently been listening to vintage descriptions of life after death from alleged communications of spirits who died years ago, like in the first world war. It differs from now. Initially, they all seemed to be living in beautiful homes, or homes that suit them and communities that are static but don't have much resemblance to Earth, no shops but plenty of entertainment, museums and food, arts and crafts, music making and other creative pursuits. You and your Mrs would like that. However, it is always hinted that eventually you move on from it all.

Yeah, it is weird. I must say not too sound to sappy but I consider you guys my friends. Who knows maybe we will meet some day. But I do know if times get tough or I go through something bad in my Life I can come here to get some moral support from non judgey people who are just plain good human beings

May I introduce you to the wonderful world of Lasix. It flushes body fluids from your system. And, something I will have to keep taking. You have to compensate with other pills like potassium to make up for it as it's also flushes that. Not an ideal way to lose weight. I was taking two tablets a day and was losing one pound a day. But it never stopped, I was dipping below 180 so I stopped it for several days and then switched to one a day. I could feel the fluid returning when off it and started to gain weight again.

Not an ideal way to lose weight but boy, does it work.

And the latest fashion is purple dress and black undershirt, for the women, (a while ago l went to a large group communicating with their dead relatives, etc, and even though l am lousy with anything verbal can see pretty well).

That world is just as real as this, except that this one is here to "learn" and the other to teach when you have learned enough,...that or take a very long vacation?

I thought it was interesting that so many said they lived in a house and community, but then I realized that all the modern ones I was listening too were just accounts of people who had died for a short while and then came back, so they would just be having a meet and greet or conversation with some learned entity.

Key mentioned changing things up and it might be time to ad a home Cardiio machine to the mix. Like an air bike or a rowing machine. I default to those as low impact. And just better for those over 40.

I personally despise any home machine that requires a monthly fee to use the machine.

I still get all of my exercise from walking a pretty good amount every day and the last month the heat has started even though it still 15 to 20 degrees cooler than last year this time.

No pain no gain . For any one feeling bunt out they might need to readjust their work out schedule or be more creative when working out .

They might even benefit more working out for 30 minutes as opposed vto an hour every time .

Yeah I did the same yesterday, Kay. Totally felt like sleeping in and skipping my 4 mile run.So I did. And it felt great.

Today I ran 4 miles and it was soooo humid. Then took my son (basset hound) on a mile walk. Very invigorating

No Pain No Gain. Who ever said that is a glutton for punishment. LOL.

I made a vow when I got out of the Marine Corps I wasn't ever going to exercise again. And over the last 51 years I have pretty much stuck to that. I'm now 80 and going strong. I eat what I want, sleep in when I want and walk when I want. Go see the Doc twice a year and he tells me I'm in pretty good shape for 80 years old.

For all you young whipper snappers go ahead and punish yourself. Your still going to die.

No pain no gain was fine for steroid using body builders in their twenties. Or endurance athletes.
