I just finished watching "Band Of Brothers" 2001 on Netflex. 2nd or 3rd time not sure which.

What these amazing men and women went through was truly horrific. Yet they carried on and stood firm in their resolve. Not only the service men and women but our country, as a whole.

Once again I salute them.

If you have not seen this you need to take the time to watch it. I strongly recommend it.

Ken - I haven't seen it as yet.

Along those lines, though, last Tuesday my daughter-in-law was the sponsor for her father on an Honor Flight to D.C. Her dad retired as a Colonel after an Air Force career as a fighter pilot and test pilot. He was like a little kid - so excited to go on this trip with other vets. The flew out of Cinci at 5 am or so - spent the day touring war memorials, etc and flew back same day (about 11 PM). There were 86 vets and 86 sponsors on the plane and off all those the local TV station chose my d-in-law and her father to interview at the airport. He got such a kick out of that.

That group runs an amazing charity - highly organized, dedicated - they treat the vets with the respect they have earned. The vets trip is totally free and they are given matching shirts and jackets, and other goodies. the sponsor pays $600-700 - not sure which but that covers the sponsors flight and meals. etc.

Sorry - didn't mean to hijack your thread but seemed to fit.
