Netflix has already raised price from $9.99 to $11.99, now it is time for them to increase price again

Yes it will probably be raised again....is there a question there?

If you pay $12/month and you watch just 12 NetFlix movies/shows a month - that's pretty cheap entertainment.

Prices have been going up on everything - why would streaming services be an exception? Of course if you can't easily afford $2-3 more that's an issue - if you don't use the streaming service that's also an issue.

Not sure how 'opinions' help on this topic.

I say anything under $20 is a fair price for Netflix. Just my opinion

I only watch YT and the free Pluto TV offerings, Local Now App, plus Plex and the Net trawler, Kodi.. Keeps me entertained and don't pay a dime, just a fast internet connection and that's it.

Back in the UK, they have a ton of free channels over the air. But, you still have to pay the BBC license fee (to get anything, but its not blocked so you will only get penalized if they catch you without a license). The fee is only about the price of top tier monthly cable or streaming over here in the US but it's once a year that you pay for what would be a months worth in the US.

I just took a look - my NetFlix went up $3 in December so I guess that is what the OP is referring to. I pay (with tax) just under $25 a month.

The only 'service' I'm rethinking is Amazon Prime which is due (I pay yearly) in May. They are charging 'rent' now for many new movies...Azn has added small ads (which I'm sure will increase in size/length...we order enough that we would get free shipping anyway....not sure if it's still worth it.

I rarely open the Amazon app, but use Amazon shopping a lot for getting goods, so worth it. Recently, these providers are going to charge you extra to opt out of ads that they insert into their films and shows. What many don't realize is that this extra also will include the reinstatement of 4k, HDR and Dolby Vision which depending on the film, they have surreptitiously removed unless you pay for the ad opt out, wonder why your 4k is not quite a good picture than once was.

Streaming Providers are feeling the pinch of higher operating costs, TV companies charging more to let them use their stuff, hence the insertion of ad's and removal of special features and a cutback on original shows.

Aside from Netflix, the only company turning a profit now is Pluto TV. That is "Free" to watch, older stuff is used and ad's inserted, but no monthly fee.

Yes, I agree with you that 12 $ is not a big deal other subscriptions also increase price. But you get quality content with Netflix.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
