List All The Computers, Laptops, PDA's Or Tablets You Ever Owned?

I suppose you can include Cell Phones as they are computers technically, but you can leave out smart tv enabling boxes. Games counsels not really a programable computer either, but perhaps Xbox

This will be an interesting exercise in remembering it all and an insight into your brand and O's preferences. If you don't feel like listing them all just do a tot up of the quantity, brands and OS's

As best I can remember then, starting in the early eighties, probably not in exact order.

        I like talking tech, but listing the computers I've owned is a dull step too far.

        (I am, however, a member of the Dull Men's Club FB page. Some fascinating discussion interspersed with mindnumbingly dull topics like lists of computers.)

            Since 1985, I've probably owned 12 computers - 3 towers and nine laptops. My first computer was a Colecovision ADAM. I told my dad I wanted an Apple 2C and he came home with the ADAM.

            I had one of the first smart phones in the Google G1. Since then, I've had one iPhone and a new Samsung Galaxy probably every other year.

            I had a Samsung tablet but didn't really use it so I never bought another tablet.

            I rarely use my current laptop because my Galaxy 23 covers 99% of my needs. I really only break out the laptop to do my taxes.

            I'm rather brand-agnostic when it comes to computers. My purchases are driven by best specs at the time. I've never owned an Apple computer.

            There. Happy?

              Yep, I can now add it to the dossier I am compiling on you so I can start work on your biography, lol.

              Interesting what you said about the tablet v the phone and the laptop. My Fire tablet just ended up being a digital clock and Alexa, rarely used it. My laptop, a powerful XPS Dell I7 Laptop is rarely used. I have a full sized PC and mini PC and just use them. Really, a good Laptop is great if you are travelling a lot and for work. But hey, I'm retired.

              Having said that, a friend in the UK who is also retired and has always had a PC hardly uses it these days, does nearly everything from a 5 year old IPad. Horses for courses.

              Never liked Apple, looks pretty but overpriced and still restrictive in what programs it can take. I follow Louis Rossman on YT. He's a repair guy and also an advocate for the right to repair. He hates Apple. The latest stuff is almost impossible to repair via third party repair shops, he says and you can only source the overpriced components from Apple, tight control. Also, he says some key components are very weak and highly likely to break after a year or so of buying one. Like it's built in obsolescence. No Apple Care, just buy a new one they say.

              PC still Rools. I did have a second hand Ipod in the 2000's, never used it much. I actually won a Microsoft Zune in a competition. Never used that much either.

              I just realized from looking at that list that I have used every version of Windows since Windows. 95. And I did dabble with Windows 1.00 and 3, and 3.1 back in the day. I worked in a Computer store for 4 years back in the days of 8 bit and early 16 bit machines, including IBM clones. So every time I got a later version of Windows, it was just that bit better than the last, problems you had on prior versions went away. I would say now, it's more stable than its ever been, rarely have problems with it.

              A Coleco Adam, what was your dad thinking. Probably how much money he saved, lol.

                    Computer devices and old operating systems is a hobby in itself. People collect them and play with them, go to shows, make video's etc. Some write new software to stretch their capabilities to the limit. Some make new versions of them using modern tech, so they run faster etc.

                    I just happened to largely remember what I bought over the years. Thing is, although I turned them over faster than many people do, I was never interested in how they look, just what they could do. And computer tech progresses very quickly. I only have essentially three working devices now. A full size PC which was top line in 2020 when I bought it and still runs anything without problems, A mini PC which runs as a TV media server, and a good laptop had for four years. So, not exactly replacing them every year. My phone is a 2019 model. Works fine.

                    I don't generally tinker under the hood, just Google and fix any problems as they arise. Otherwise, I do what most people do, just use the software available and any useful web services.

                    I do a bit of tech support for friends when required, but that's mainly just having some prior knowledge and understanding. Otherwise I Google the answer, no expert, just a user.

    Colecovision if l remember correctly that was the one with the kick-ass graphics which l drooled over when l was a kid?


    I only really had game systems starting off with the Atari 2600, then after looking at it in Computer magazines finally saved up for an Atari 800XL with Miner 49er, and a Data Recorder, (couldn't afford a large floppy Disk drive).


    Still have it but the transformer is shot, (easy to fix thought).

    My Mother has an Apple Air so l was forced to get it set up for her and yeah l would never buy one, (keeps pestering you for a code from another Apple device then basically spams your computer if you don't for long periods).

    So when the Amiga Computer with the bubbleman, (possibly not the correct name but l couldn't find it on Google) animation came out did you get crowds outside the shop window?
