The Porthole Got Pulled

A novel Idea for a porthole from New York to Dublin, Ireland was recently set up in a public place in both locations, so, passers by either end could see and communicate with each other, like a giant Webcam on the street within a mini Stargate like circle.

Unfortunately it either got shut down, or severely restricted in view times due to mainly inappropriate actions by the Irish. Hooman's

If you could have such a porthole setup in your location, what or where would you like it to be viewing?

    A video link, called the 'Portal', between New York City and Dublin has been reopened after previously being shut down. The 'Portal' was shut down earlier this May due to inappropriate behavior from people in both cities, including partial nudity.

    I wouldnt' have one at all. What is the point of waving to people you don't know and will never meet? It's like a version of social media without words/language.


    Who didn't see the shocking behavior coming? ...and why did they care if people took their clothing off?

      It he idea is something that may have been neat and cool 20 years ago. When the behavior would have been expected by every. And the New York side would have responded with a parade of nudity

      How disconnected from the population are the people who make these choices. When they fail to expect easy to predict human behaviors

    I would like to peep the future.

    Also would like to see the alternate parallel universe where everybody has an identical twin, watch it travel through a wormhole, time warp, and other things we don't know about.

    Not really interested in seeing the Irish or the people in NYC.

    It wasn't only the Irish that were acting inappropriately, some of the New Yorkers were acting badly also according to local News stations. My Grandmother on my mom's side was from Ireland. So it would be cool to meet any possible relatives from there.

    Unfortunately, those types of things will always get the few that will ruin it for the rest of us. Just think how easy it is for someone with a live audience to act like a fool. For their 30 seconds of fame, they might even be recorded on a Tic Toc Video overseas. Even if nothing happens they don't have to worry about being arrested by law enforcement from another country.

      Technically you are correct, but if they change it to a view of the sea then I won't need to modify it.
