Why Do Women Wear Makeup?

This was in a popular YT vid channel where a guy in his 50's talks about male empowerment and modern day dating and marriage etc.

This was a follow up video to a previous one where his conclusion was that women wore makeup to impress other Women? Also he said that 90 percent of men who replied to his vid said that they did not care if women wore makeup or not?

Hmmm, I can't entirely agree with all that. If a man goes to a nightclub you can rest assured he will be first attracted to the women who have accentuated their eyes and lips. The one in the corner who wears little or none is less likely to be so visible. So their is a clear cut case of women wearing it to attract men.

Then we have a man and wife/girlfriend who go out to a function and she dresses up and wears makeup. Is that to shine with her partner, to make him proud of her looks, to make her feel good about herself, or is it just to outshine other women?

A debatable subject in my opinion and not clearcut.

So what are your opinions about this, you might like to ask your spouse that question! Do you like your partner to wear makeup?

Women wear makeup for the same reason that ALL people
do things like take baths, comb their hair, file their nails, wear
    nice clothes, cologne, etc.

Besides practicing good personal hygiene and self-grooming
in order to be clean and healthy, it is a courtesy to the rest of
humanity to smell nice and look good, otherwise we'd still be
walking around naked like we did back in the caveman days.

Although sometimes when I read certain people's posts here
I wonder whether they ever evolved from being Neanderthals.

And no, I don't prefer my spouse to wear makeup, I like men
    who are masculine.

I prefer women not to cake make up on but a little bit of eye liner is cool .

Some women wear make up because they have insecurities.

An' that is when George Clooney appears.

I see meediate he jus' here for chocklit bcs he wandrin' all confoosed till'n he sees the chocklit, then he grabs what I bullieve could be sum kinda FIX -- an' speeds to pay.

Thing is, havin' TRAINED AT LENGTH to pursoo Benedict Cumbahbatch in heels shouldso evah he appeah, it is no prahblem for Moi to run fronta Clooney bcs he is way too old for Moi plus only 8".

So I reply, "yeah, but what 'bout muh goddamn lips, babe?"

I think makeup can. sometimes to feel confident, other times to impress others. I would appreciate when my partner wears it if it makes her happy, but honestly, I would also love her natural look just as much.

As a lady, I do not have an issue with going without makeup, but i would not be comfortable if my partner isn't comfortable with me putting on make up.

I stayed away from this one until now.

Straight men wore makeup in the past and where the first to wear footwear With heals to look taller .

In any case woman in all cultures on the planet wear makeup even if they are covered from head to toe in public.

Women wear makeup because women wear makeup. Even when no one is going to see it.

Men in many cultures around the world actually put effort into looking fit and dressing well and smelling good. It's only common in modern western countries for a majority of men not to care about their looks.

Makeup definitely serves different purposes. Some women wear it to attract men, others for confidence or self-expression, and yes, sometimes to stand out among other women. As for men not caring, I think many do like a "natural" look, but that often still includes some subtle makeup.

Women wear make up so that they feel prettier.

Personally, I prefer women without or with little makeup, where I can't tell that they are wearing makeup.

Makeup is a blend of self-confidence, creativity, and cultural expression that goes beyond appearances. For many, it accentuates features, covers flaws, or expresses personality, emotion, or creativity. It has roots in history, self-determination, and even defiance of convention; it is both societal and personal. If it makes you feel like yourself, wear it.
