    Your still scared of it, Even when you watch a re-run of it on your tv at home you always say to your kids: "were going to need a bigger couch"

  • There have been tons of shark-eats-man movies since then, but it's interesting that you and I think many people remember Jaws first.

    Is it because it was an "original," or the music, or the director, or just because it is old, or what? I mean a 2024 movie would have better effects just because there have been so many technological advances. I've seen some of the after-Jaws movies, and I can't think of the name of a single one.

      It's the sound track and the one syllable movie name. Think the jaws soundtrack. The march of the empire sound from star wars . Then the deliverance into music.

      The sound track where an amazing anchor.

      Plus jaws is still rewatch able to matter how many times you have seen it.im lucky if I can be bothered to watch a movie in one sitting with as formula driven as most movies are today

    I'm just speculating. The movie was based on Peter Benchley's best-selling book. Which might be about the shark attacks at the New Jersey Shore in 1916. And a later incident in the 1960s. Was the reason why the movie was such a big hit. Also portion of the population has a fear of sharks to begin with. Nothing had ever been produced like the movie before.

    ABC World News did a segment about the production of the movie on Friday. The movie was several months behind, and they went over budget. The Shark failed most of the time, causing multiple production delays. The director was afraid he was going to get fired before the movie came out. They interviewed one of the child actors who was supposedly attacked. Said he was lifted up and down by two people in the water to make the scene look real. AMC ran the movie a couple of times this month.

                According to Chatgpt:

                You've given:

                > C ? A: ∫â‚â°(x²âˆ'2x+1) dx + âˆ'ₙ₌â‚âµ(n³âˆ'n³) âˆ' limâ‚"â†'0 sin(x)/x + eâ° âˆ' 1 = N

                And you note:

                C = Claude

                N = Nuts

                So, we're solving:

                \text{Claude ? A: } \int_1^0 (x^2 - 2x + 1)\,dx + \sum_{n=1}^5(n^3 - n^3) - \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{\sin x}{x} + e^0 - 1 = \text{Nuts}

                Let's break it down again:

                ---

                Step 1: Evaluate the integral

                \int_1^0 (x^2 - 2x + 1)\,dx = -\int_0^1 (x^2 - 2x + 1)\,dx = -\int_0^1 (x - 1)^2\,dx

                We've done this before:

                = -\left[ \frac{x^3}{3} - x^2 + x \right]_0^1 = -\left( \frac{1}{3} - 1 + 1 \right) = -\frac{1}{3}

                âœ... Integral term = -1/3

                ---

                Step 2: Evaluate the summation

                \sum_{n=1}^{5} (n^3 - n^3) = \sum_{n=1}^{5} 0 = 0

                âœ... Summation term = 0

                ---

                Step 3: Evaluate the limit

                \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{\sin x}{x} = 1

                So,

                -\lim_{x \to 0} \frac{\sin x}{x} = -1

                âœ... Limit term = -1

                ---

                Step 4: Evaluate exponential expression

                e^0 - 1 = 1 - 1 = 0

                âœ... Exponential term = 0

                ---

                Total:

                N = -\frac{1}{3} + 0 - 1 + 0 = -\frac{4}{3}

                So:

                > Claude ? A = Nuts = -4/3

                You could say:

                Claude < A, because -4/3 is a negative result -- maybe implying Claude came up short and drove A (presumably a rival?) Nuts.

                ---

                âœ... Final Answer:

                \boxed{\text{Claude ? A} \Rightarrow \text{Claude drove A Nuts } } \quad \text{and} \quad \boxed{Nuts = -\frac{4}{3 } }

                Poetic interpretation? Claude's math made A go irrational.

    During the Discovery Channel's Shark Week this year. They had Josh Gates' Expedition X on. Josh did a 20-minute segment on the Shark Attacks from 1916 in New Jersey. Back then, they had a bounty to capture the shark responsible for the 4 attacks. They caught in a Great White that they thought did the attacks.

    However, a day later, they caught a Bull Shark in the area. Some of the scientists speculate that the Bull Shark was the one responsible for the attacks in Matawan Creek. Since Great White's are not known to travel inland into freshwater.
