iMac 27" Intel Core i7. But there are some problems going on with the DOA and cracked screens with the 27" models.

You can try your luck at iMac 27" Intel Core i5. Both are quite fast and are based on the same architecture. Quad core. i7 is a bit faster.

    Just a suggestion.

If cost is not an issue I personally would go for the quad core 27 inch Imac. Awesome machine, I cant wait to get one

    Hope this helps

Make sure that you see those very glassy screens in person before you hand over your money. They're VERY shiny. Personally, I couldn't work with them -- I use a couple of big matte screens attached to a Mac Mini.

It depends on what your using it for. I bought my new imac in May. It's a 24in with dual core and 4gb RAM. I use it for graphics and audio production (Logic). This is plenty fast for what I use it for. If you are going to be using it for video/3D animation and gaming, I would definitely go for the 27in quad core and max the memory. Great choice though, I'm sure you will love whatever you end up buying.
