McCain lies to Letterman. Dave slams him!

McCain is imploding. This is getting bad for McCain.

OK, first Letterman was stood up by McCain because he suspended the campaign and Dave lets him have it for suspending the campaign. Dave says McCain called him and said he had to fly to Washington. Later in the show, it shows McCain in a live feed being interviewed by Katie Couric. So, basically McCain lied to Dave.

Yep, it's "really starting to smell" as Letterman says.

Tough! Which would you do if you were cutting things short - an interview with a network anchor or a comedy show?

So what if McCain didn't go on Letterman? I think candidates are allowed to make and change their schedules - Dave's histrionics were a bit over the top.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

That was hilarious. Although, I don't agree with the lie, I do agree that interviewing with a network anchor is a little more "important" - but letterman is right, all roads to the whitehouse DO lead through him!

I love how some feel it's OK to flat out lie. It doesn't matter that McCain and Letterman are (were) friendly, with McCain being on Letterman about a dozen times...Which means he's met with Dave 11 more times than his won vice-president candidate.

Not only is this a straight out lie, but it's a stupid one. McCain surely had to know that Letterman would find out as soon as the McCain/Curic interview was aired, so why lie at all? Why not just tell the truth, considering he claims he's a "straight talker", and there's 100% certainty that you'll be caught in the lie?
