ever leave a job you really liked that was total cheese and paid well for a better paying one with much higher expectations?

I've avoided being a real grownup for nearly 40 years. I have it really good right now and my former boss keeps asking me to meet with him about new positions in his new department.

I really like wearing crocs to work and never cleaning my office.

Hard question. Would depend on how well I like that boss but mostly on my own comfort level.

If I had a job I truly enjoyed and was comfortable doing it - and it paid enough to foot the bills, the only question would be whether I had ambition to move higher. I might not. Would depend on how the rest of my life was - what the family situation was and how it might be affected.

There's a lot to be said for having a job you like where you feel secure - versus a new job in a new department (which might or might not be solid in the long run). The money alone wouldn't be the motivator for me in this situation.

Rough situation to have to choose between two good jobs these days, isn't it?

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

It is indeed a good problem to have these days. I really enjoy what I do and love the folks I work with and for. This has been a great job for me and has been really good for my family as I come and go as I please and work from home when it suits me. I don't think I've spent eight hours in my office in several years, but I'm also always available from 5:00 AM until the wee hours of the night.

I'll hear what he has to say.

Thanks for not making fun of my crocs.

    Good question...

For me, I don't want any job... even if it is well-paying and easy.
