Feature Suggestion: Shoutbox at WF?

Folks,

Anyone think it'll be neat to have a shoutbox at the forums here? If you haven't seen one before, it's, well - like a mini chat-room that resides atop... lets anyone online interact live. It's been great fun on some of the other active forums that I frequent, so wondering if the feature is missing here for a reason, and/or if anyone else thinks it'd be nice to have one?

    It's probably a great way for spammers to annoy other members, which is
    probably why we don't have it.

    Bad enough we have to put up with spam PMs.

      Oh, dear! Sighs.

      I noticed a couple of threads o'er at the Web Design section, where a question was answered seven times with nearly the same content. Assuming goodwill (that is, nobody was copy-pasting a reply to increase post count), this could be because a bunch of people jumped on to the post to reply at about the same time...

      I thought a shoutbox for the real quick questions would clear up some of the clutter from the forums.

      As for spam... report buttons + dire warnings could help?

      Oh well, now even I'm not sure if the trouble's worth it, but perhaps still worth considering.
