Let me preface this by saying this: I dont believe in 'animal rights', but I also dont think that animals should be killed just to kill them, or be tested on, abused, etc. And I believe that there are some animals that probably shouldnt be killed without a good reason.

If you haven't seen this movie, this is a documentary about the slaughter of dolphins. The whole movie is about the japanese slaughter of dolphins and how they round them up. Basically there are 20 boats that put pipes in the water and bang on them which drives the dolphins nuts (due to their sensitive sonar) and basically herds them into a cove.

A couple animal activists found out about this and placed cameras and microphones in and around the cove to catch what happens. Most of the movie isn't really all that bad, but the last 20 minutes is enough to piss off even me. The water is so red it practically glows, the underwater cameras become useless after a bit because they can't penetrate the blood. The microphones pick up the screaming and chopping.

This movie really makes me want to hurt japanese fisherman. The slaughter is senseless and completely overboard in its scope. Its an interesting movie but if you are a serious treehugger you might want to stay away from this one, pretty gorey.

Have you seen dolphins hunt as a pack??

Dolphins are reputed to be so smart that if they had disposable thumbs etc. they may give us humans a run for the money on this planet.

Do the Japanese eat dolfin or what?

Elements of promotion of the film is allowed to sit well with some people, but facts are facts and there is simply no denying the emotional impact of this film. It 's a good example of a film based on a transparent decision-making agenda full of items to make him feel a film of robbery or spy thriller.
