I took down a Adwords ad that was making 3k a month profit temporarily.

When I put it back up it was disapproved and never got it running again.

To never make it as a successful songwriter.

I may take that one to my grave.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else. I'm very content with
what I have accomplished as a husband, father and now, businessman.

But I still want a *#@# Grammy dammit LOL.

I know how you feel, Steve. The closest I've gotten to finding a newsbreaking gemstone is getting an exclusive report on the world's largest crystals. Heavy sigh. I'm still digging for it, though.

So, to you - a toast for that one hit song -- and for me the 55 karat alexandrite.

I feel you on that Steve.
Mine would be never going professional as a drummer.
But on the flip side the fact that I have played drums since I was 10 and have a knack for learning any drum you sit in front of me is an incredible feeling.
So as disappointing as one side of the coin is, the other side is just as rewarding.

Steve! Come on, man. You're still fairly young. You can still be a
successful songwriter. That's what I believe.

I would urge you to not give up if that's a burning desire.

My greatest regret was giving up the guitar at age 7. Both of my parents
played instruments. My mother played piano, and my father played a Fender
        guitar.

So I started lessons when I was 6. I was coming along pretty good. But
my father was a hammerhead. lol. Always on me to practice everyday, and
I grew to hate it. I was always a stubborn SOB. So I gave my father and the
        guitar the figurative middle finger.

I wish I had kept playing and had become a professional or a rock star, even
though I hate crowds and being around people.

        Mais c'est la vie!

But you, Steve... think about, is it Pete Seger? Maybe that's not the guy. Anyway,
I read about someone who's now famous, but it took him 15 yrs, I think, to
        make it big in music.

Keep writing songs and composing music.

If you're in a position to do it, retire from marketing and do nothing but
write songs. Maybe you got frustrated this past year with writing? Is that
why you returned to the bidniss?

Ken, thanks for your concern. I guess you can't really jump to any other
conclusions other than the ones you did from the little bit of info in my
          post.

I have not given up. I don't plan on giving up, but I am a realist.

I have been writing songs since the age of 20...32 years.

It is a very hard business to crack. It doesn't even have much to do
with talent as it does knowing the right people, unfortunately.

I just entered another song contest (to be judged in March) and plan on
yet another year of submitting to publishers through the Songwriters
          Market listings.

But I have no illusions about this business. The chances of me making it
          are slim.

I have resigned myself to that, which I think is a lot better for my mental
health than to hang on an unrealistic belief that I am someday going to
          be a big songwriting star.

Those are the kinds of things that lead to suicide.

The last thing I want to do is take one of the few joys I have in life
(writing songs) and turn it into something I hate, which for a long time,
it was because of my bitter disappointment, resentment and anger.

Today, I just love writing songs.

But yes, it is my biggest disappointment in life.

But no, it's not going to cause me to throw myself off a bridge or lose
          any sleep over it.

I have come to peace with that.

So your concern, though appreciated, is not needed.

          I'm just fine.

      Carla Muir.

A chick I had the hots for back in high school.

I suffered through 4 years of boring ass French....simply so I could sit behind Carla Muir in high school French class.

      That's devotion peeps.

Sadly, after 4 long years of suffering through "parlez vous francais"...truth is.....I never got past SECOND BASE WITH CARLA MUIR.

Note: When Vinnie drops A-Game rap down on a chick...I expect to reach THIRD BASE AT THE VERY LEAST

But Carla Muir was about as frigid as ice.... in bleak December....and I couldn't close the "deal."

So yeah....even LEGENDS strike out every now and then.....and Carla Muir remains my greatest self-disappointment.

      xxx Vegas Vince
      Legend.

P.S. ps. Found out years later she was into "girls"...so figure I got further then most.
