Hello everyone is this domain name a trademark ?

The Bay forums ?

Its the same as th Ebay forums ?

I will be using the domain name for people to talk about online auction web sites like ebay, ubid , and many other auction sites.

I did buy ebayforums.co.uk but was told not to do it. But what do you think about this domain name ?

i think you could slide by with that. Just do it, its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. Make sure to set up the forums to capture emails for a list, fire it up and run with it. If ebay says something, cross that bridge when you come to it. Hopefully by that time you'll still have built up a decent email list that you can use to get your previous users to follow you to a new forum and maybe do a bit of list marketing.

Do a patent search. You are getting real close to ebay and if it's judged that the name could be misleading that people could confuse you as being ebay, then it's close enough for complaint.

Considering the problems you are already having, I would think that you would be trying to steer clear of trademarked names instead of sneaking in as close to them as you can get. Maybe you need to rethink your marketing strategies.

Why not go for something more generally appropriate like "auctioneersforums.com"
