What are the rules for replying to your own threads?

I have a quick question...

I posted a thread yesterday (Email capture and multiple free giveaways) and waiting patiently for responses. When I returned tonight to see Id still not got any, I replied to it asking if anyone would like to help me out. It was not just the word 'bump', but I guess it could be labeled as a bump post.

My question is, what are the rules with that? I waited over 24 hours for a response, and while I realise it might not be the most important question to some, for me it's quite a big one and will effect what I do on my blog.

The only rules I could find were related to sig rules...

I am not sure if warrior forum has any penalties for "bump" post, but, if you want to be on the safe side, instead of posting a reply to your thread, just edit the original thread and add the new information as "update". That way you dont have to worry about bump posting, and you get your point across as well. I hope it helps.

Would editing the main post make it visable however? Just that after 24+ hours in the main marketing section, the post is on about page 5 and left to die a slow, lonely death lol. That's why I was hoping if I replied to it, someone might actually see it and be able to help me...

Could you be more specific - what forum were you in? Were you asking a question about emails and multiple free give aways -- or offering them? If you were making offers you are lucky the post was ignored rather than deleted as spam...which could have cost your account as well. If you had questions about something - ask again here. You might just not have put in a title interesting enough for people to click or written your question in a way that others understood what you were asking.

Here's the original thread, Sal -- it was in the Main Forum and it's asking a legitimate question:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...giveaways.html

I don't see any problem with bumping it once if no one's responded -- I wouldn't do it more than once. And even though it's true that posts in the Main forum fall off page one really quickly, don't bump it too quickly (you waited 24 hours, which is plenty of time).

Well it's getting answers now at any rate so problem solved on that one.
It probably just got missed in the mad posting spree that goes on during holidays. I'm not the go to marketing expert on the forum (um...trust me on that one), but as far as the list you have supplied there - I'd be happiest as a reader with number 1 -
The way I did it on a site I had a few years back was to catch the emails opt in right away --- worded it something like to opt in for this report and upcoming reports, products, and vital information........... If they want that report, they will opt in for it. Nothing wrong with that - they can always cancel later on if you aren't filling their needs. Now watch the experts disagree, LOL.

Ken - I bet that new hairdo went over wonderfully for you during the holidays.
