Would you help me to give a good friend a surprise?

Hi,

A good friend for many years, a drummer, has just put up his first video on YouTube.

He's the drummer in a big band where I play trombone. I also often use him when I put together jazz trios and quartets where I play the piano.

This evening, during stage rehearsals with the big band in preparation for a big concert tomorrow, he asked a few of us to comment on his video.

It would have been great fun if he tomorrow found a lot of comments from persons unknown to him.

It's a short video, just 55 seconds. If you comment, please don't tell him how you got to know about the video.

Here's the link;

      Thank you!

This will be a lot of fun when he wakes up tomorrow, just a few hours from now here in Norway.

how do I find it on Youtube please?
      .....
I think it should open on YouTube in a window of it's own if you doubleclick the video showing here in the thread after you have started it.

I know. Some years ago now, when he lived in a larger town, he was used by one of the Norwegian televison broadcasters. He was also used on CD productions.

          Mark Andrews...
          Thank You!

I think I must get some sleep. Being from the UK you know how late it must be in Norway by now.

If he represents the talent of your band, I think I have a reason to visit Norway. I posted a comment under one of my other names. It was a pleasure.

      Thank you everyone!

      Up to 6 comments now.

Still a few hours till I meet him for todays concert, but I'm sure he just can't wait to tell some of us about all the comments that suddenly has appeared since last time we met.

Let's keep the thread, and hopefully new comments from people in new time zones, rolling.

Thanks to everyone that has commented on my friends YouTube video!

Since I mentioned him here and on one other forum he's up to 15 unique comments. He was really surprised, thankfull and happy about it.

And, by all means, I'm sure he will be happy to receive even more comments from new commenters.

My friend wanted me to thank you all for your comments!

Neither being very tech savvy, nor very english savvy, he has managed to remove a few of the comments when trying to reply. Either that, or he has been exposed to some kind of YouTube trouble.

Anyway, he wanted everyone to know that it was not by intention, and that he really appreciated the comments.

      Not quite.

I really like him, but don't know if I will call him my favorite.

My nickname, JazzOscar, is first and foremost meant to be descriptive for me and the importance jazz music has in my life.

I ended up as an IT consultant, being an amateur jazz piano player and trombone player on the side, but I also have a 1 year music education and at some point in time, many years ago, was thinking about choosing a full fledged music education. Now I'm almost 56, so it may be a little late to go for a major career change.
