OH, a WISE GUY huh! NYUK,NYUK,NYUK! Yeah, I know, THREE STOOGES, but one fo the what, 5?, three stooges was in the other!

Yeah, I wonder why you don't see more of this stuff anymore. Remember the one where abbot and costello, with two similar criminals, end up going in a rocket, land in louisiana during mardigras, and end up going to venus?

I've seen every A&C movie ever made...yes...even that quite forgettable
      one.

Not one of their best, but sadly I think later in their career.

It was the first one that I thought of that was almost 100% based on silly ideas and perception. Ironically, the criminals were very similar to A&C.(as to how they related and saw the world)

One of the best bits ever!

My grandson and one of his buddies did it for bit in school.

I was thinking of applying it to rock bands.

    Kind of like...

    "Who's the Band?"

    "Yes"

    "Yes is the Band?"

    "No. Who is the band?"

"That's what I want to know"

    "What?"

    "The Band!"

    "No. The Who!"

    "That's right"

    Etc., etc.

I may work on it in my spare time.

    Overheard at a Who concert".

There's a place in there somewhere for Guess Who as well.

Cheech and Chong are back on tour.

Maybe I could send it to them.

"Who's on first" is a classic...Here's my favorite sports comedy bit, another classic:

Yet another classic...Andy Griffith from 1953, the football clips are from 1977.

Kurt, without even watching the Carlin clip, I remember it vividly from when
it was shown on HBO sometime in the 70s I think. It was absolutely
      brilliant.

George was one of the funniest guys around and he will be missed...a lot.

Of course, being a horror movie freak, A&C Meet Frankenstein is my favorite.

It's odd, though, that in real life Lou Costello was the strong one.
And, from what I understand, not particularlly nice.

If you watch "Bud and Lou" with Buddy Hackett and Harvey Korman,
supposedly, Lou was a real SOB. I don't know how true it was but that is
how he was portrayed. Also, Bud had epilepsy, which is something I never
      knew.

        Two more supposed TRUE facts...

Laurel was the smarter one. He even worked on the theme. Since he often perplexed oliver, and did magic tricks, I guess that isn't hard to see.

Alf Alfa was apparently a BULLY!

Well, generally speaking, the "straight man" is not the smart one.
Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Martin and Lewis...

Laurel and Hardy were the better of the comedy duos of that era.

They were also my fathers favorites.

I don't know if this is true or not, I have never asked my mother, but my wife told me that my mother has some of my father's ashes in a Stan Laurel statue......

      Kurt,

Have you read the George Carlin autobiography, "Last Words"? It's a very good read.

That was fun to watch that Andy Griffith vid. My Dad had that album and played it many times when I was a kid, so that brought back a lot of memories.
