Official Google Blog: Our position on California's No on 8 campaign

I saw this blog post about google and their position on California's gay marriage.

Now before this becomes a slug-fest on what you think about marriage rights, what's your position on companies like google getting involved involved in the political process.

Is it smart?

Should they? Shouldn't they?

Do you like their reasoning?

At least they are being up front about it.
So much better then most companies who voice their feelings on an issue in private while having dinner with their government official.

  I personally see nothing wrong with an employee of Google posting a political statement/opinion on his/her own blog.
  
  However, I thing corporate Google should stick to what they know and stay out of politics.
