I am planning to work on a biography and would like to read a few different styles before I start. I would appreciate any suggestions and a list of biographies that I may read.

Thank you.

Have you tried googling for a list of biographies? What kind of
biography are you writing? Is it for adults or children? There are
bios written a long time ago and more current ones. Do you know
    who your audience will be?

Researching the answers to the above questions will help you more
than a simple list of biographies.

First you have to decide what kind of biography you are to write. There are many topics as Militarian , sporty, comedian ,the people who changed the world etc.But the biographies of Elizabeth, The Buddha, Socrates, Nelson Mondela, Leonardo da Vinci can be worth reading for you.

Thank you nehaluck11. I will look up those bios.

KenThompson, I did google for a list of biographies. I have noted down a few. I also came across a few autobiographies as well.

I am writing for adults and it is about a mentor in the business community so the audience is going to largely be those in business or looking for motivation to start a business and a part of it from those who are looking at self development.

Thank you, and yes, I need to do a lot more research. I have just decided recently that I want to write a biography. I hope that I will be very committed to this project!

You're welcome. Yes, plan very well and thoroughly. Decide you will be committed to
complete it. Maybe write down a list of achievable goals that break it down into chunks
that are easily manageable. Then work on developing the habit of writing something every
day. It doesn't matter how much, just do something every day if you can.

Forget writer's block. Just start writing according to your outline. Just write and don't think
or worry about anything. You can fix everything later when it's done. That's the beauty of
          editing.

Good luck to you. Let us know when it's finished.

Thank you Ken. I am putting my outline on paper over the weekend. I have a regular job so I cannot do much over the weekdays. One thing I will do though is "write everyday".

I will definitely let you know when I am through.
