Just turned on TV in time to see someone named Kinney on FoxNews promoting Obama.

Nothing new - except this woman was doing her damndest to sound like Sarah Palin! It was hilarious and a blatant parody.

"Gonna, gotta, wanna, darn" - the facial expressions, the tone of voice. She was using every "common man" colloquial phrase she could think of. Only problem was it didn't sound natural to her as it does with Palin. Nor did it do much to promote Obama - probably much less than the "Obama is my home boy" tshirts being sold.

Political theater as comedy...or it is slapstick?

  • Well let's face facts here Kay, if it was on the "fair and unbiased" Faux News it was almost certainly meant to be taking a dig at Obama, as Faux News has always been very biased and never fair in their reporting. Not that other networks are fair and unbiased, but Faux seems to be ther worst.

    • I agree - I think they're all bad especially this year.

But you missed the point - the woman is some kind of Chairman in the Obama organization. No one was taking a dig at Obama - it was the person working for the Obama campaign who was trying to appear innocently folksy .

  • It's called a FARCE.
  • I loved the one where they showed a scene with Palin getting off an airplane with knee high black leather boots with spiked stiletto heels.

They did the spin from left and right of course with opposite effect on the exact same scene.

Somebody says - do we need a vice president that wears stripper boots?

(I was thinking dominatrix or witch)

I can't wait - they said she is going to be on Saturday Night Live - I saw what I think was actually Palin acting like Tina Fey, acting like her. I'm not sure but it should be hilarious.
  • I had a chip installed in my TV so I wouldn't accidently
    tune into Faux News.

    T.W.
  • Sometimes people go way beyond their capabilities and way beyond the decency line to prove their point and promote some person or some thing. This was the apt example of that. Parody, copying somebody's accent and personality traits looks good if it is done in a decent way and in a sophisticated manner.
