*Disclaimer: I'm not advertising any type of service with this post, which is why I didn't post it on the main forum.*

I finally decided to pursue my dream of becoming an IM coach and I have my first three students! I am so tickled!

I've wanted to do coaching ever since I first got into IM back in May of 2009 and here it is, nearly one year later, and I'm doing it!

What are you going to teach your students? The IM catergory has tons of different topics to teach. You spend months just teaching one part of IM.

Hey thanks so much for your supportive comments everyone! I so appreciate it!

I'm going to start out with just the basics. My goal is to give a very strong foundation of skills and techniques that anyone can take and use to really go whatever direction they want to afterwards. I'll be teaching stuff like how to set up hosting, how to find a niche, domain & keywords, how to install WordPress and set up the site, how to drive traffic...all the very basic stuff that is so important.

And yes, I've been "teaching" by answering a multitude of questions each day. LOL The difference now is that I'll be getting paid for it which was the logical next step.

It's a milestone for me because when I first "discovered" IM back in May 2009, I knew I eventually wanted to become a coach/mentor/advisor/whatever...and now I'm doing it!

Goal achieved? CHECK!

Yep - you're first on my list. I like how you not only get into the IM stuff but how you're also open to sharing more about you and what goes on in your life --- kinda like a real online friend, not just a business contact.

I'm so happy for you. You truly are an inspiration. I hope to be able to do the same someday. Who knows? I just might. Anything is possible I think, if I just do the best I can.

I live in a fast paced city where Internet Marketing is relatively new - basically, it is at its infancy. I have observed this because on the WF alone, not too many people are from the same city as I am.

In addition, I've also talked with quite a few affiliate managers and asked about affiliates from my area, and they either say a handful to zero.

I think it would be interesting if I could get into coaching later on once I've gotten around this IM thing.

I really would love to see how you progress further. I wish you all the best. Your update made me smile.

My focus has been on creating some software products. But I like the interaction here so much, maybe I should consider coaching too.

  That's great! I always wanted to teach to some degree. Maybe a small classroom and just show people the basics. I just lacked self confidence since I get tongue tied often. Don't think I can handle standing in front of people and talking without getting nervous.
  Great stuff Lisa. I hope you do well and get more and more people joining up!
  It's sort of inspiring to me. Maybe I can do something like this one day online and hopefully maybe...once I gain some confidence, do it for real at a small community college.
  I remember some years back when I was out of a job, I attended a seminar and a whole lot of job seekers were in the class. I felt maybe I could've been up there showing people some cool tricks to help them make a little side income.

  And just remember, if any of your students get out of line, make 'em run laps around their computer until they drop. It worked for my old football coach in high school. That and a pop on top of the helmet with a cap that had a heavy brass rivet on the top...
