A few weeks ago I started getting annoying popups appearing in the bottom right corner of my browser (only in Firefox). It happens when I do a Google search, or an IMDB search, or an Amazon search, etc. It'll popup something for sale that's linked to my search.

How do I stop these thing???

I've attached a picture of one of them.

Download crap cleaner and run it. It's free. If that doesn't take care of it, let us know.

    Thanks for the help, Sal.

But I just ran that software and the damned thing is still there. I've tried so many things to get rid of it - it's driving me crazy!

firefox has an add-on popup blocker that will probably fix that.

I think this is a spyware, which antivirus do you use?

This is definitely spyware. You should be able to fix this with a good anti-virus. I suggest you do it quickly before someone gets your information from the computer.

I use McAfee. Wouldn't that pick it up?

McAfee doesn't do much Alex - If it's just maleware, Malwarebytes is a free program and that will stop it. IF it's virus, such as one of the recent injection viruses, you need Avast - free for home use and strong enough you don't need the paid version.
Then boot you McAfee to the curb.

If it's only happening in Firefox, I'm betting it's some kind of add-on/plug-in. If so, it probably won't get recognized as malware. Go to Tools/Add-ons and poke around. See if you find something.

Aronya, you did it!!! I've never thought of looking at the add ons. There was one in there called "Price Gong" and when I removed it the problem went away instantly! Thank you, really. This was driving me so insane that at a couple of points I think I almost considered getting a new computer :p

Now I can browse in peace again! Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. We got there in the end!

The title of this thread would be good in marketing to catch someone's attention. Could be used in a few ways...

I think your title is engaging, because it is asking people to identify and also stop something. Both terms engage people when they read it, and when put into the right marketing hands, they could really bring home the bacon!
