Hi,

I am a fan of Tiger Woods because he's fun to watch playing golf.

Are there any golf fans on this forum and have any of you decided not to watch him or support him because of this cheating ways?

Maybe he's rehabilitated ?

  • I think we should give him a chance if he really had turned over to a new leaf.

  • No - I think everyone will still be watching the golfer Tiger Woods but the man has certainly tarnished his image.
  • Prior to his "incident(s)", he played at a tournament in Melbourne. He behaved like a complete spoilt-brat prima-donna on and off the course..

I can forgive him his transgressions with his harem, but not being an arrogant pr|ck.

If he's learned what humility means, all well and good. If not then goodbye and good riddance to him.

Being good at a sport does not a role model make, no matter how much the media tries to convince us otherwise.
  • Its not my place or job to forgive him...he didnt do anything to me and as far as im concerned, his marital issues are between him and his wife.

    • This /thread. The media reaction to him was ridiculous.
  • People like that DON'T change! The "apology" makes things WORSE in my book.

  • Who cares what the guy did in his personal life? The guy gets paid to hit a tiny ball into a tiny hole. I believe the guy's name is Tiger Woods - NOT Tiger's Wood. We need to be focusing more on the guy's stroke... wait that didn't come out right. We should be keeping our eye on the guys putter... nope still not right. Well forget about Tiger Woods. I hear that the caddy is mostly responsible for most of his winnings anyway. So let's focus on the person that carry's his ball sack.... Oh forget it... Golf sucks!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I'm curious to see if Tiger will be the player he was in the past, since he's probably not going to be doing what he was doing before - off the course.

    Will it affect his game???

    Only time will tell.

    TL

Ps. I noticed he was wearing shades during practice.

Will he be wearing shades when he plays for real???
  • Tiger's only sorry he got caught cheating. If he had the chance he'll do it again. What did his personal life have to do with golf? For me, I don't care what he does off the course, I was just studying how he plays golf so I can apply some of his techniques to mine.

    • I forgive Tiger. He may now continue his life.

  • I hate it when MM types my thoughts before I do (but I'll forgive HIM)

I've nothing to forgive Tiger for either. Feel sorry for the ones that have their intimate lives dissected in the media - there isn't much of a 'private' life for ones in the spotlight; and if you put yourself in the spotlight you should set a good example for your followers.

    yeah...golf sucks anyway

  • I don't think he's such a bad person... he had an affair - it is a big deal, especially to those close to him, but check out things like ashleymadison.com that promote having an affair as healthy (seriously, that's their pitch)... Tiger's a great golfer, the affair didn't change that. If he keeps winning he'll still have fans.

Incidentally, I saw this on Bill Maher the other nite - kind of offensive, so I'm just going to put the link and not the video itself. I think he said it was an email or a text or a voicemail from Tiger to his mistress XD - if you missed it, you gotta watch it - it blew my mind and made me ROFLOL for like 5 minutes, (never mind that, the forrum adds it in there automatically - seriously, this may offend some, so if you don't like cursing or sexual stuff, DON'T WATCH THIS!)

  • Tig didn't have "an affair". He has a sexual addiction. I would guess it takes more than 4 months of hiding to change. I wish him the best.
  • I don't see what all the hype was about. Tiger woods is a jerk but everyone is still talking about this. There are more important things going on in the world.

    • Yeah, like Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, apparently... :p
  • "Tig didn't have "an affair". He has a sexual addiction. "

I crack up everytime I hear something so lame.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Will Tiger win the Masters???

Will Tiger place in the top 10??

    How will he do??

Will the big change in his routine affect his game negatively?

  • I love Tiger Woods, I could honestly care less what he does. It's his business not ours.
I sure wouldn't want everyone in the world in my personal life what so ever.
I think we need to just leave these celebrities alone...Their humans like us.

    Just my $.02

    • Personally, I don't see why he should be let off... He is a role model to many young people, a roll which shouldn't be took lightly and if he isn't up for it, he should of never took on the responsibility. People say it's his own life, that's true but if you want to be a celebrity, you are basically forfeiting your right to be a "normal person". His role comes with responsibilities, he didn't live up to them responsibilities... Should he be given a second chance, no not in my opinion, should he be allowed to continue you with golf, sure.
  • His only 'responsibility' is to his sponsors. I doubt there are many kids that look up to a pro golf player

    • Tiger woods is one of the biggest sportsmen in the world, of course kids look up to him... Considering that some of his products he sponsored are commonly used by kids, then I would say that a lot of kids know about him, know him, read about him and doesn't really help them reading that he was cheating. This is just my opinion anyway.

  • The staged apology was a joke. You could almost see people behind him telling him to pause..eyes down, look sad, take a deep breath...continue. Pathetic. The press were only allowed to take pictures..no questions.

It's all a game to these people. He's only sorry he got caught.
  • The fact is they have the money/power to do as they want.

"I did not have a sexual relationship with that girl..." What was it 2 months later he had to admit he was lying...But he's jst the President. What does it matter? I guess we are all idiots for taking it all seriously?

Lying seems to have become "cool" these days.

    • And exactly how were you personally hurt that either one of those men had extramarital affairs?

Clinton's affair doesnt change the fact that he was groomed from practically birth to be a president or change the fact that tiger woods is a golf god, and thats all the farther their lives are impacted by yours. You're not dating either one of those guys, they aren't married to your sister.

  • Since this is a marketing forum...Instead of "foregiving" Tiger, how many of you would/wouldn't keep Tiger as a representative for your company/brand?
    • [1] reply

    • His sponsors will/will not choose to keep him based on the general 'consumers' forgiveness. If the public forgives (based on in-depth marketing research of course) then they don't risk their product being 'shunned' due to association with the 'unforgiven' one.

and we all know what the sponsors care about and it isn't really about Tiger at all.

  • What he did wouldn't stop me watching him as and when he returns. After all we all make mistakes in life.
  • I don't think you can ever forgive a guy like that!

On the other hand, I don't understand why anyone cares about his life. He's just a golfer.
  • Once a cheater, always a cheater.

I never really watched him in the first place. I am sure he will come out of this in time. Heck OJ did much worse and came out of it.

just wait for a media cool down.

    • Oj beat the replacement wife and is currently in prison for armed robbery, thats after losing everything he owned right down to his trophies.
  • He didnt lie and cheat on you

    • I know (think i mentioned that earlier)
but Kurt went and got "literal" with his question. Assuming I was the sponsor or wife- he'd be at the curb <shrug>
  • Regular folk like us can never comprehend what it's like to be a demi-god inhabiting a human body. He doesn't have sex addiction. That's absurd. It's just... he's Tiger f**king Woods. The issue probably has more to do with our puritanical society than anything else. Ever heard any scandals about Wayne Gretzky? He's a legendary dog. I think difference is probably that his wife knew what he was getting involved in - and he wasn't as ridiculously careless as Tiger. In short, anybody who actually considers it is within their purview to forgive or not forgive should instead take a long look within.

  • Tiger who?
  • Now here's something i find interesting, if you watch, and listen, and even in this thread the whites are livid..'my god how could he do that to me!' kind of outrage, blacks..not so much. I would think if any group would be torched..it would be blacks before whites

    • These quotes posted below are the smartest statements so far, on this stupid subject.

This should be applied to celebrities, politicians and neighbor joe and jane around the corner.

Since it does NOTHING to enhance or take away from your life, WHO CARES?

Those who are in that "not forgiven/not another chance/step down" camp are not honest enough to have to dismiss most EVERYONE, because MOST, even the one's they look up to, have dirt in their closest,...so, should most of the catholic clergy step away, don't hear much of a stink about that, diddling little kids then relocating them, that's MUCH BIGGER, than what Tiger is doing...shows most viewership patrons are as much a cheap whore as the media that present them this worthless garbage.

...then you got dirty politicians, dirty 834% pure LEGAL bribes{lobbyist}, dirty lobbyist that get political office on our dime, dirty celebrities, dirty talk show host, dirty corporations, dirty insurance companies, dirty neighbors, dirty organizations, dirty churches/mosques/synagogues, dirty bankers, dirty co-workers, dirty bosses, dirty relatives, wow.

I would believe the "no forgiveness/step down" campers if they honestly and truley believed and practice with their dollars and time to boycott out of their life ALL the unforgiveness that is deserved.

Thats just not the case, they are simply "part of the mob", jump in.

They don't have the integrity or balls to truly dismiss everyone that deserves it, who would they interact with?

These are the same type folks that says punish and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, be hard on crime, UNTIL, their relative is in that position, NOW, even with conclusive , hard , indisputable evidence, they still stand IN SUPPORT of their CRIMINAL relative, clogging up the system, their values are no better than anyone else's.

Since most have blinders on and tunnel vision about how "great" they are as a person, if one was to take the exact self-appointed values these dudes have and apply it and dissect their life with it at close examination, even they don't measure up to their own value's, but they simply would not accept that or see that, even if you show proof that was the case.

Just shows you the ones who "believe blank blank should be a role model, should not be forgiven and should step down and go away forever" are full of crap, maybe MORE, than the entities they are targeting their righteous judgement, they are like anybody else, with just as much dirt in their closet.

If you think you are better, you have more of a disease than Tiger.

Its like a car thief thinking he is somehow has a little more righteousness and is better than the person who commits assault,...ridiculous.

This " I AM "THE" jury of YOUR peers" act , holier than thou crap is getting very, very old, putrid and festered.

All saints, please fill out your petition for authorized saint-hood and turn it in to your local chapel.

      Yeah.
