Children of Men is a movie set in the near future, wherein civilisation is collapsing after people lose the ability to have children. It's a completely under-rated movie that didn't get nearly as much acclaim as it deserved.

Have a look at this scene, all done in a single shot on a hand-held camera. Apparently, it took 14 days to prepare:

    •

I guess they are the distributor but, as an American company, it's strange that they would have it blocked in the US, but not blocked outside it.

  • Damn. Embedding is disabled for the video. If you double-click on the video, it'll open in a new page (well worth it!).

Have a look at this clip too (embedding NOT disabled). An action sequence and a super-long tracking shot all rolled into one:

  • I thought this was an awesome movie when I saw it. Very believeable, good acting. I love Michael Cain in this movie...and I want that house he lives in
  • I remember reading something that was talking about the scene in the forest, where they run into the roadblock. Apparently that was all shot as one continuous scene. When you see the movie you'll see that its a pretty action packed sequence.

    • That's the clip in post #3. Is that not visible either? It is pretty impressive (although the first clip is even more so).
  • I cant see it here. work has youtube blocked
  • Clive Owen doesn't get the credit he deserves. Whether it's totally over the top like Sin City and Shoot'em Up or masterworks like Children of Men he is a genuine presence and lends credibility. Aside from Sin City he just doesn't seem to get the box office. Sad.
  • Have watched this movie. However, not much I can recall from this movie. Anyway, Hollywood have shot quite a number of good movies. You can always check them out in IMDB.com

My fav is still Shawshank Redemption, Prestige
