Ok guys, VegasVince just made Twitter history today!

VegasVince Gets Twitverginized

So we're having a Live Warrior Twitter case study on VegasVince
To find out How many followers he can get to see how well Twitter works!

More on that in a sec, but first....

Here's the lowdown in case you aren't in the loop on this.

If you guys have been following some of the previous Twitter threads the last few days (and week) you'll know that there's been quite a few discussions about how twitter can be used to reach your market, brand your name, create social buzz, build your list, and make more sales.

Quite a few people don't understand how twitter works or how it can be used for marketing your business. (this included me up until about a week ago)

So I took the plunge and was "converted" from a "what the hell is Twitter", "Twitter is stupid", "what's the point of Twitter", "how can I use twitter for my business", to a Twitter believer after following the "herd" with all the social proof about Twitter.

So with a little help from warrior Twitter queen Dana_W I managed to get over 700 followers within a week. Not bad for being totally clueless about Twitter.

Things broke wide open when I posted a video into the Warior Forum of my actual traffic that's been hammering my blog straight from Twitter including a documentation video of my Gmail account getting pounded from getting 3 or 4 new followers literally every minute.

So what's happening now is that other people are seeing the social proof of how twitter works and how it can work for them including VegasVince himself.

So were making a live Warrior case study out of VegasVince to see just how good Twitter can work.

You can participate by following VegasVince and making tweets on twitter about this thread to create social buzz.

Were going to find out just how far this can go and how many followers Vince can get within a week.

Everybody will be able to see how many followers Vince's account is getting live.

So everybody follow VegasVince right now and spread the word!

Here's VegasVince's profile....

We all just discovered it and we are mindlessly following the herd? No really, I make money off it, that's all I can tell you.

Ok, so this is a new bunch of 'make money using twitter' events.

Just because you can make money from something - doesn't mean you have to or should, does it?

I've been happily using twitter to keep up with friends around the world and I find it really useful, but the only stuff I ignore is when people start posting links to stuff they're promoting or trying to get me to follow them to their blogs. If that's what you're all joining Twitter for then I won't be following you.

If you'd said you just realised how useful it was for find new and interesting people and markets - I'd have happily followed you. Making it all about making money from it just turned me right off.

Have fun though, maybe you'll find other benefits you weren't expecting.

What good is a "case study" on twitter when the followers obtained come through a thread that would generally be deleted due to it's promotional nature? How is that case study going to provide details to others on how to make money?

Don't get me wrong, I love me some VV. But the whole deal sounds a little like a fabricated testimonial to me. Perhaps I'm the only one. And perhaps I'm wrong.

EDIT: I guess I'm not the only one. It seems an almost identical thread was already moved to the Off Topic forum.

Ok I am simply having to much fun getting my feet wet in the IM industry again. It has been awhile and to tell you the truth it has been pretty lonely working in other niches.

It has literally been over a year since I have done anything other than participating in JV Giveaways and promoting the occasional product. My sole focus has been outside of the IM niche and to be honest I hardly ever came by here until recently.

So I to took the plunge and made a Twitter account for my IM stuff. I am not sure how much time I will devote to working on it but I know it has lots of potential. I have been a user of Twitter since it first opened and barely anybody ever spoke of it. Social Networking FTW!

I have to say that I will be following your progress as well Vince. It is great having the opportunity to talk to you recently even if it was by accident.

    Go Vince!

Well I can say Twitter still looks kinda dumb to me and I don't really get it or why people "follow" people, so I would have never considered signing up for twitter, but Vegas Vince has forced me to do it.

I use it both to socialize and to make money. Pretty much like working in an office. But I would spend less time there if I weren't using it to market.

Although if you look at my Tweets, I actually think I socialize too much and don't self-promote enough these days.

That's a difficult balancing act but one you need to master if you're making money in the social niches.

I usually split my money making activities up from my socialising as otherwise the line can become fuzzy and I have no interest in making money from my friends - making money together is a different matter though.

Twitter certainly makes the world a much smaller place and I talk a lot more to warriors on Twitter than in the forum these days.

When you start to combine making money with your social activities you just need to be sure you don't infect the relationships that were personal with promotional activities.

It's a lot like Facebook. I was using that for keeping in touch with friends and relatives, and making some money using their systems for marketing, but when IMers all joined, the whole landscape changed and I started getting pokes and requests and messages and videos and eventually practically stopped using it as it was overrun with people pushing links and promoting their stuff. It ruined Facebook for me.

Dude... You're the life of the party!

    Smile, brother.

Nobody said they don't use Twitter to meet and network with like minded others. You're coming off just a wee bit sanctimonious.

Yes, some of the people reading this thread will do a complete face-plant on their entry into Twitter.

Then they'll get it or they'll be unfollowed into that Twitter-Abyss of users that tweetlater into nothingness.

Who cares if somebody's tweets equal amusement for them, or income, ego stroking or any of the myriad reasons or ways anyone chooses to use Twitter. It's just a freakin' social network after all.

      Don't worry Brian,

It's just part of my master plan to not have people following me who don't know how nice I really am.

I already got rid of one follower today by saying I don't want to see promotional links

I'm just playing to see what the effect is. Some people take this stuff too seriously and I'm just doing some 'social weeding' to see who stays

Joined Twitter last night around 7pm east coast time.

It's now about 6:30 am.....and Vince is off to bed...cuz I do the whole graveyard insanity schedule.

Anyway, in a little over 11 hours....Vinnie got 191 followers on Twitter (and counting)....many of whom I know...and thanks to all of you'se.

I don't know if those numbers are good, bad, ugly, or indifferent....but I know that most of my Twitter homies are damn good marketers....and if they hit me up..they got spirit too.

My home girl Dana_ W ......proved she really is a Twitter Diva...and my main man Frank Bruno can do stuff with video that Richard Nixon's boys would be turning in their graves over.

In terms of relevance.....lots of new visits to my blog....and lots of nice comments about "the bad guy" here. Thanks 2 all of U.

VV, I have no doubt that they know their "stuff." Not at all.

What I am saying, though, is if there had been no thread and then your number of followers would have been announced after the "case study" had been over, that would have been a more accurate case study.
