The thief returned the cell phone

A few weeks ago my wife ( Joy) was on the bus in Dalian China where we have an orphanage with 12 Chinese kids. A pick pocket stold my wifes cell phone from her purse without her knowing it. When my wife got home, she noticed it was gone and one of our teenage girls from the ophanage called her on our home phone. She said ( Grandma, why didnt you answer your phone?) My wife said it has been stollen. The girl called the number and the thief answered. The gorl said " That is my grandmas phone, she needs it as she takes care of 12 orphan children, give it back". Then she had one of the other children call him untill all the kids had called him and chewed him out. he finally said Enough. I will bring it back and he did. The bottom line is don't mess with Grandma Joy or you will have trouble.

  • It was stupid ANYWAY! They could have cancelled service, and THEN how good would it be? And you CAN triangulate and track the guy somewhat, even WITHOUT GPS!

    But he was pobably sorry about stealing from such a person, and all the girls probably conviced him. MAYBE he did a reverse lookup on the number!

    • Thanks for your reply. In China pickpockets are plentyful. it isnt like in the states if you steal a phone and it is verizon, you can disconnect it. In China they just take out the cjip and put theirs in and they have a phone. A 50 dollar phone doesnt seem like much to many but to us it might as well have been a 1000 dollars as we needed it for bus fare and food for the kids so to get it back was miraculous and saved us the cost. We were so happy to get it back. We have lived there 15 years and have never seen that happen before.
