Star Trek the Next Generation - "Tapestry" (Episode 141)

On a diplomatic mission, Picard and the away team are attacked by a group of radicals. Picard is slightly injured, but the energy blast damages his artificial heart. Picard finds himself in the afterlife, but to his dismay it appears to be the domain of his nemesis Q, who bluntly says "Welcome to the afterlife, Jean-Luc. You're dead."
To prove that Picard is dead, Q introduces him to people that Picard is aware have died, including Picard's father, and the voices of people for whose deaths Picard is responsible. When Picard accuses Q of causing his death, Q reveals that Picard's artificial heart is the cause of his demise.
Picard lost his own heart in a bar brawl with Nausicaans - members of a quick-tempered, bullish race, which resulted in Picard being impaled from the back through his heart. Picard realizes his regret for his "wild youth" and that it has finally caught up with him. It is revealed that the basis of his current disciplined personality and need for privacy in his personal life is rooted in his regret over his earlier life and a wish to keep it secret.
Learning of Picard's regrets, Q offers to let him go back in time to prevent the injury that resulted in him obtaining an artificial heart. Picard is assured by Q that any changes he makes will not affect anyone other than himself. He is whisked back to two days before the injury, meeting with his friends and academy classmates Corey Zweller and Marta Batanides...
Ensign Corey Zweller, Captain Picard's roommate at Starfleet Academy was played by actor Ned Vaughn, who also appeared in Hunt or Red October and Apollo 13 (and many others).

Ned was my first roommate in college.

I suppose that Patrick Stewart and I have a Bacon Factor of 1 (sort of).

The gist is that Captain Picard and I had the same roommate.

      Hmmm. That's interesting.

Gary -- that REALLY IS interesting. I think you'd be safe in the guess on the odds, too. I'm sure that happened half-way frequently when towns of 2 and 3 thousand were big and people resided predominantly in or near hometowns their entire lives, but not in these days and ages.

My wife and I found out after we had been dating for a while, that we lived in the exact same house in Michigan when we were born. I was born 4 years before her, and my family moved to Texas where I grew up. Her family moved into our house later and she was born there. They then moved to Tennessee where she grew up. I met her in Illinois when she was 16 after our families managed to move to the same city. We later dated and got married.

I think the chances of that happening are probably less than winning super lotto.

People always tell me I look like Lewis Hamilton (F1 Driver)

I once had an agent call me to ask me I would consider going on his books.
The annoying thing is that apart from my skin colour I actually really don't think I look like him!!!

His face is rounder, but your mouth and eyes are very similar - can't tell about the nose as your pictures are at different enough angles I can't tell (yeah - I had to google to find out who he was). As far as skin color, his has much more golden tone than yours, but that could just be the time of year the pics were taken.

All in all, I can see where you would remind people of him.

I used to date one of the hottest celebrities here in Thailand. I was just on some gossip TV show a few weeks ago, even though we broke up over a year ago. It's funny, but its a good ice breaker with the girls. They love that they're talking to someone that used to date someone they see on TV all the time. LOL

I got blown up once (although how that happened is just too interesting, even for you guys. )

Also, an old woman used to call me on the telephone every week for about 6 or 7 years asking to speak to "Catherine". Every week, I'd tell her there's nobody by that name here. Every week, she'd ask me if I was sure. One week, she stopped, and never rang again.

I was born in Costa Rica and was raised in Costa Rica and Venezuela. People find that hard to believe since my last name is a very Danish Petersen (I don't have a drop of Danish blood).

So even though I'm a Petersen, I don't speak any Scandinavian languages but I am bilingual (Spanish & English).
