Drop The Attitude...Nobody Is Impressed

You guys gotta drop by Main Discussion some time. Or maybe this is why
you don't.

I have seen some interesting threads and responses there tonight.

One guy boasts about how he makes $80,000 a month but isn't going to tell
how he does it.

Another guy asks for some ways to make a profit with $500 to spend. One
guy comes back with an answer, "I have at least 15 ideas but I'm not telling."

Do they think that anybody is impressed with their arrogance and the fact
that they're just acting like jerks?

Do you think I would EVER do business with any of these people?

Not if you put a gun to my head.

End of rant.

    Hey Steven...

Good to chat with you again!

    I hear ya.

I decided to take a break from the main forum for a bit due to a heightened sense of superiority that started over there.

So I came in here...posted one thread for fun and ran into another Mr. Know it all.

I tell ya....the "So Called" Warrior police are everywhere. The problem around here is that everyone talks a good game but does not know the fundamentals. It all starts with the basics.

Anyway....a little off from your post...but I know that you are solid and enjoy chatting with you!

    Take care
    Sean

Kurt, probably the only thing you and I will ever agree on is that if an

um....I don't agree with that - mess us up very royally though.

I haven't stopped visiting the main forum - just don't always see much there to bother
posting to any more. It's just at a strange evolutionary stage right now - OT does that
        now and again, too.

When people say they aren't telling, I either take it that they are working on a product
that they would ruin....or that they are complete frauds. Seems like a rash of fraud these
days and the anonymity of the net makes that real easy. That doesn't bother me much - those types will be gone soon enough, and those that are just baiting for the release of
a product have a right to protect their info --- it will be public info after the first round of buyers anyway, eh? LOL.

          Steven,

You are right on. I think most of the people here can see through that hype, but it may not be so apparent for the new people and who may be most vulnerable to fall for this crap. The few who use this forum for unabashed self-promotion are diluting its value for the rest of us.

I still get a lot of new ideas and even assistance from others. I think we can add value by visiting the main forum more often and offer our expertise. That will help the bogus self-promotion threads sink into the abyss.

Just my two cents - but worth millions!

Let's start with not being able to agree that it was a joke...You know, the part about me not telling and how it relates to your OP?

Whether you agree or not, if you have to explain the punchline, the joke never works.

Ah, but Stephen... then it wouldn't actually be an asteroid, since the biggest is only 974 kilometers wide, whilst the Moon is 3474 kilometers.

Therefore, I feel supremely confident when I say (with only a hint of condescending nit-picking) that an asteroid the size of the Moon will never, ever, ever, hit the Earth.

        Ever.

That $80000 a month thread is gone. Perhaps I read it wrongly, I thought that he was trying to make a point if you see such claims being made on a product, you really shouldn't expect much in terms of real information.

    Steven,
I think I've told you this before.
The Warrior Forum aint what it used to be.
And that's sad in my opinion.
Used to be anyone could come in and have a legitimate question and withing hours have numerous truly good intentioned helpful posts.
That can still happen now and then, but not nearly as much as it used to.
Now we have the people that post exactly like you said. Who needs them?
I find I learn a heck of a lot about human nature here in the OT.
But , as you know I do also post in the main forums,I havent forsaken them completely, but when I see a thread where someone posts:twitter is great for marketing, and it gets 63 responses all saying yes, or i love it, or see how many followers you got. Thats not my kind of marketing. I prefer straight talk, good products, honest answers and above par customer serverice.
And I know there are quite a few old time Warriors that share the same values.
Back when I joined the forum, I don't remember anyone being worried about being scammed. NOw I see threads everyday about someone thinking they have been, real or not.
And even yes, what another poster said...some in the main forum seem to have developed a sense of superiority.

This is where I would end my drunken rant,if I drank, but I dont.

Yeah, trust me,I been around. I can give John Taylor and Bev a run for their money I put out my very first product in 2002 I think, and to let you know what the Warrior forum was like back then, If I had a question someone not only offered to help, but people usually did a sample for me that turned out better than what I had done and it ended up being done mostly by Warriors and members of EBookWholsalers.com
The Warrior Forum's own Ricky Allen made my sales page. Another Warrior took my idea and turned it into a program (for a fee of course, but very reasonable) and it goes on and on and on. NOwadays it's "sure, I'll help you for blah blah blah ,but I digress.

Steven, I think you do add value a lot of the times, not always, but a lot

And yes, don't get me wrong, there are still a lot of Warriors both older ones and newer ones that are of immense value to others. God bless you and all of them. If I offend anyone by saying "Gid Bless you", I don't care.
Rven the Warriors I don't agree with, I try to learn from.

I agree Kim. I still enjoy the main forum but don't get nearly as much out of it as I did when I first joined. The quality of the posts has dropped.
There are still some good ones, Steve and John Taylor's posts come to mind. I remember though when someone posted something new it was discussed, tested, and really examined. Now it's all thanks, and great idea replies.

@KimW It's funny that like 90% of the posts are now about Twitter (I totally made that figure up, but it seems true!)

Steven, I didn't see the posts you were talking about...but that is a true shame

I know this isn't a thread just to complain, but I'm disgusted in some of the self promotion that's going on with some very well known Warriors. It's amazing what people can get away with.

I'd almost rather have someone not tell me how they made $80K than to answer someone's question with a link to their product in a few threads

Steven, if you want to chill out here, you are most welcome!

I have been here 2003 and visit everyday, although I do not post that often. When I do, it is usually to help other people out. I don't get much out of the WF in return because my type of business was in very small minority here. Although the $800,000 thread could have been a joke, I agree that there are many other obnoxious threads and posts that aren't. The main WF is not a particularly friendly place for newcomers and newbies.

There seems to be divide beween older and younger warriors, with the younger ones more like to make aggressive posts. I actually saw in the WIS conference at Singapore where there were a lot of warriors present. I distinctly felt that the younger ones are not interested in talking to you unless you have a project on hand that they can do JVs with. I really got a sore taste after that conference. For a while, I just didn't want to visit or post in WF at all. But in the end, I took the attitude that the WF is not a country club where people are expected to be nice to each other.

I feel that the WF warts and all is a great place to research and have fun.
I mean hey, the crap on TV is no where as entertaining than some threads here.

The silly little pissing matches, the strutting like peacocks, and the full out venom spitting, vein-in-the-neck bulging rants from oh, I don't know SATAN!!
(you need to remember SNL's Church Lady to appreciate that one)

You get to see reactions to all this,to store in your memory banks to use.

EVERYONE likes to be stroked too.
Ego massages are the most pleasant kind.
You know "you can lead a horse to honey but, you can't make hay"
or was it lead a bunny to water and make soup? oh you know what I mean.
Attract more flies with chocolat or was that starve Travolta and stop a Fever on saturday eve?

How about instead of letting the warts crank up our BP ask some questions.
What is behind this? Are they simply bragging? Why are the sooo mad.
Oh,why,oh why are they soooo stupid to not agree with me.
Do they have something I can learn? DUH! after all no one here has all the answers.

What can I do to add value to this rare and unprecedented opportunity that is now in front of me?

That knobshine is so stubborn, it makes me so mad? or...What would Cialdini do to sway this person to MY way of thinking in a gentle and elegant way?

Great opportunity to test out some new language patterns

Ahhh what a great melting pot.

Which reminds me...just earlier today I was trying to remember what was the reason Jim, my brother, said did you hear what Mary's cousin Sally said about that problem that was in the past last week that had to be solved once and for all today? Well, when I talked to him he calmed me down now because the reason for all the trouble was out of my control and standing back so far away now it just didn't seem so important after all.

Indiana, here is a example of what I have been talking about the main WF. The tone was very agressive and it was apparent that there seems to be an age divide.

The Warrior Forum - Do You Make Money Online? And How Much?

It is perhaps unfortunate that Kevin Riley made an angry comment early on, but the OT and his supporters went on to make all sorts of provocative and insulting comments which stirred up things even further.

"Top Secret- You are making a very
cool figure than most of those
people who have refrained to post
      here/or have called it rude."

"I just wondering how many people in the forum would be honest enough to actually say out the figures.. lolx.. Anyway just hunting around to see who can be great JV partners.. hehe"

"Thanks for your kind feedback guys... I just thought there would be some nice people here... "

Derek - and that is when I saw the real changes coming to the WF - when people started coming in and asking how much do you make? I don't know about where you live, but back here in the West it is just as rude to state your income or as it is telling a stranger intimate sexual inclinations and in some cases even ruder. What business is it of anyone else what kind of money anyone else makes?

The only time money should be discussed in relation to specific programs. Then people have a right to know REAL figures. If someone toots that they made 100,000 dollars in 24 hours, what is their point if they are not either promoting a product to show you how or if they aren't to tell you how? Do they think we will feel they are IM gods? Any crook can make a buck so what is there to respect just because they have a wallet?

When I got started in IM it was because I was going through a nightmare financial crash during a split up. I posted my first product as a distress sale WSO -- and got called a loser, moron, etc. I didn't have enough money to be a person I guess. The more solid Warriors were interested in seeing what I had done (they knew full well I was a techno-idiot) some congratulated me for working while the walls crumbled and for the initiative I took to learn how to do it. But the newer warriors trashed me for not already being "successful enough" without thinking that maybe, that was the reason I got into IM, LOL.

Since that time, there has been much inane obsession with "how much money do you have". Sure we all want to get rich - but to forget our moral fiber, our spirit of integrity, and our sense of unity here to do so is insane.
This forum was built on integrity and unity - and until people remember that this forum risks becoming just another digital point playground for vultures.

As for the people that brag about how much money they have -- it only takes one swift kick to relieve them of that situation so they might find it more advantageous to find some other means of anchoring their ego than through their wallet. Not only will it be less of a focus shattering shock when they lose it all, but they will probably have more empathetic business contacts to help them put it all back together.

There are many (newbies and others, too) who are only posting to draw attention to themselves, their sites, their sigs, their diddly squat affiliate links.

They'll ask the "how much do you make" question time after time - and very few will give an honest answer because it's none of their business and what someone else earns doesn't affect them or help them in any way.

These folks are easy to spot because in every post they make "it's all about me". They must type with one hand while patting themselves on the back with the other for coming up with yet another great excuse to start a thread.
