Hey, I might look into hiring a guy to write my WSO since I tried, and it ended up bad (Haven't posted it, but looks ugly as hell) .... So I just wanna know what price would you guess it would cost me?

Well, I certainly can't speak for other writers; but, I am paid by the word. I get paid to edit and re-write; and, to also make other writing changes to the content.

I charge individually for each task I must perform. Depending on the length of content(number of words) and the necessary changes I needed to make.

It can work out to be as cheap as 2-5 cents a word for 500-1000 words of content.

Writing changes will bring this cent/word figure up to 10 cents.

Fresh and original content for copywriting purposes will work out to upwards of$1.00 per word. Again, this is me.

Generally speaking, most writers are somewhere in between.

Editing a page of content for re-editing purposes can be as cheap as $5.00 per page; if there are a few dozen or even hundred pages to edit at a time.

Hope this gives you a better idea of the costs involved.

By the way, just a note in passing...I am available as a writer. No strings attached...

    You need a copywriter.

    Copywriters are expensive.

By way of example, I've never written copy for less than $150, and that's because it was a JV. My lowball bottom-of-the-barrel price for close personal friends is $300, but since I get half the profits on this product, I'll just take $150 out of the other guy's cut.

My usual price is $2,500 for a standard long-form sales page.

There are cheaper ones out there, but you're not likely to find anyone who will do it for less than $97, and you'll be lucky to find one who doesn't suck for less than $397.

My advice would be to get a course on copywriting instead, and just make your own copy less amateurish. Then post a link to your WSO in the Copywriting forum, and ask for a critique... understanding that many of the people critiquing you are professionals who charge their clients several thousand dollars for this.

So if they say something is stupid and wrong and needs to change, don't argue. They know what they're talking about. If you're humble, don't appear stupid, accept criticism well, and take action based on the advice you get - progressively more and more experienced copywriters will offer small bits of advice for free. We have some top-drawer copywriters here, and they'll help you a lot if you're willing to be helped.

Don't do this! You will simply get your thread deleted!

All the other advice was great!

I've done exactly this in the Copywriting forum, and it's worked just fine. No thread deletion. Are you sure that's why your thread was deleted?

Instead of trying to write a fancy, compelling sales page that goes on and on - why not do a WSO like they used to be....write a very few sentences telling clearly what you are selling and why someone might want to buy it.

Too many WSOs now have humongous sales pages - it's actually gotten ridiculous.

Some of the top products sold online (outside this forum) were offered here in the past as special price WSO's with about 30 lines of copy - and they sold like crazy.

Write like you are telling people here about your product and it be just fine.

EDIT: If you launch a WSO and then post about it asking for critiques - expect to have a problem. One person might get by with it - but that's rare as it is viewed as promoting the WSO in the main forum.

Best is to write the page, put it online and then ask for a critique of your "sales page" - and not even mention WSO (so it doesn't look like you are pre-promoting).

Was it a WSO you asked for feedback on, or a sales page elsewhere?

People asking for critiques post links to their sales pages all the time over there, but if it's a WSO you're posting a link to, you're asking for trouble. Maybe you got away with it, but I know at least a couple of long-time members who got temporary bans for "promoting" their WSO (besides putting it in their sig, which is fine).

I've done both. I've had a ban for promoting an upcoming WSO (I said I was going to do one; I mean, go figure, that I might actually do a WSO on a product), but never for promoting an existing one.

You know, I honestly have no clue what is and isn't against the rules half the time. It's not like I don't try, and it's not like I don't pay attention, but I'll do something that seems fine and nothing happens - and then I'll do it again later and the ban hammer drops.

And I don't know what other people think about that, but I know what I think.

My thread wasn't deleted - but I have seen several others like that deleted - and it has been the subject of a very ranty thread in the copywriting sub forum.

I have lots of online talents but just have not decided on which and where to offer them. I guess a good list and where would be very beneficial to me as may to others as well.

Are you asking for "advice" on the WSO that went live right after you started this thread?

I'd have to file this under "good try".
