The video below shows a robbery that happened at a bookmakers (a betting shop) in England.

According to news reports, the guy was in a bad mood because he didn't win anything, so he decided to beat the robber to the ground with a chair, and then he sat on him until the police arrived.

As the Yanks would say: Awesome!

He got away with that one!

I doubt if I would have been the hero - especially when dude had a gun.

    Somebody up there likes him.

Two days ago I was filling up with gas and the keypad on the pump was frozen so I had to go inside. This station is right on the edge of a seedy part of town, but it's very busy and usually OK.

There was a line at the register, and as the guy in front of me handed the cashier a $20 bill, the door flew open and this 17-18 year old kid pushed past the other customer saying "MF this and MF that" to the cashier.

He reached across the counter and started to snatch the $20 bill from the cashier.

I grabbed his arm and said, "cool your jets, son." (No idea where the words or action came from.)

He turned on me and started in with the language and got right in my face. I told him, "walk away now... it's not worth it."

He spun around, grabbed a handful of cigars from a box at the register, then left.

Really my only thought in the split second before I reacted was how sad it was that the cashier couldn't stand up to him.

P.S. I'm quiet and extremely slow to anger. I wasn't really angry at the kid, but my adrenaline sure was pumping.
