How to understand Google Listing

Hello dear Warriors,

as I'm new to this IM-Adventure and I would like to understand s.th. referring to Google.

Actually I decided to follow the Squidoo-Ezine street. So far so good.

This morning (12 hours ago) I made the test - and - I found my lens (squidoo com/liquid-vitamin-b) ranking on place 1 and on place 3 my ezine article.

In between there was another website/blog which referred in the serp to my lens. Great. Although I don't understand how this could be because the website has nothing to do with my lens.

But: 12 hours later - on page 1 there is only my ezine article. The lens ....? I haven't seen it 'til page 3.

I had a look at the page which is now on place 1 (livestrong com) - still talking about Vitamin B and referring in the serp to my lens, seems to be 1 year old.

What happens/had happened? I would like to understand this. In these 12 h I met the lens on feedagg.

Thanks in advance for your time and enlightment.

Rieke

    What is this all about?

Based on my own experiences as well as what I've read this
seems normal. I'm referring to the dancing around of your
new content in the serps. I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped
completely out of sight for a brief period only to resurface in a
    relatively stable position.

If you want to achieve good rankings with it, then proceed to do
some quality backlinking. No real need to keep checking on it
    several times a day.

KenThompson. Thanks for this tip! I really need to build links to my blog for me to achieve good rankings.

That is pretty normal dear since rankings are not permanent based on your competitor's effort and based on Google itself.
