Most Musical Guitar Solo Of All Time

This is the one that gets my vote. Any guitar solo that's over 1 minute
long (2:46 on to end of song) and you can sing every single note of it has
got to hands down be the winner. ** EDIT ** Actually, there are two
distinct solos in this song.

The song, ironically, wasn't as big a hit as it could have been because a lot
of A/C stations refused to play it because they felt the group sold out by
including a hard rock guitar solo in a ballad...a group that was specifically
known for their soft rock sound.

It was almost heresy in the eyes of many. Old fans of the group were in
shock at first. But many came to regard this as their best song ever and
one of the best guitar solos of all time.

The guy who made history was Tony Peluso. But maybe the credit should
go to Richard Carpenter for thinking so out of the box.

When Tony was called to play the solo for this song, he first started
playing something soft and sweet. But Richard said, "No...Play the melody
for 5 bars and then burn it up!"

And he did...and history was made.
