No surprise, but it's a shame that these filthy, dirty, rotten crooks don't have to be held liable for their stupidity. Instead, they are being awarded for it from my bank account. I hope they all rot.

Every justification for the bailout is nonsense - it's called busines. If they fail, they go out of business or rebuild. they don't rewarded for it. Did I happen to mention that I hope they all rot?

I'm in complete agreement, Michael. And the worst part of it is that these despicably irresponsible bankers are being allowed to laugh in our faces.

It's the nature of the business; there always have been crooks and there always will be crooks and corruption in banking and any other aspect of commerce. This goes as far back in recorded history as the 18th century BC in Babylon with Hammurabi's Code of laws, which included bank fraud. Get over it, and move on.

Thanks for the advice, Paul. I'm afraid it's kind of hard to "move on" when the same people keep acting out the same "let's gamble huge quantities of borrowed money on an unsustainable bubble" strategy which always seems to have the same outcome.

We keep hearing from the media that "Wall Street/The Square Mile will never be the same again. Investment banks are dead. We can never go back to the way it was. The rules have changed forever."

This is garbage. The only thing that's changed is that the taxpayers are now the ones paying the banker's entirely undeserved bonuses.

Michael - they are already rotted. They just don't have the sense to lye down and cover with dirt.

Paul - spoken like a true fascist. It hasn't ALWAYS been like that - just since FDR brought in the FED. And the 700 bil is not the total - it actually totals into the trillions. We are being robbed blind, led into fascist law - and as long as you are making money in the market that is all hunky dorey with you? That is the most blatant example of how our country came to this point of destruction I have ever seen yet and no amount of charity (i.e. tax write-off) can hide that. You should work for Bush - he'd make you much more, much faster without the gamble. The hell with humans anyway, most of them are cud chewers and anyone not trained correctly in consumerism or who isn't dead rich just a waste of oxygen. Herd em and bleed em.

And I have read Hammurabi's code. I don't think that it really does us justice to follow a system that included a woman throwing herself off a cliff in shame if her husband cheats on her - or one that has virgins sitting in a town square and being forced to be deflowered by the first male to come along and toss her a coin (no matter what the value of the coin). While I realize it was the first actual written code (that we know of), it really left a lot to be offered in the way of how an "advanced" people should administer "justice". How bout we get a system in which crooks are punished and there is no slavery.

I really mean it - get over it. If I worried about all the crooks in the world and how unfair and unjust life is, I would never have time to make money.

These crooks have actually done us a big favor, by showing the weakness in the system, and these will be corrected. I heard on the news that the bonuses for executives at AIG are being frozen. I just bought another 100,000 shares of AIG today at garage sale prices of $2.09 per share.

And Sal, about Hammurabi's code, I was referring to the banking portion of it. Bankers laughed for awhile back then too - until they were finally executed for stealing. Just as in the days of Hammurabi, they dealt with criminals with a justice demanded by society.

PS I am NOT making money in the stock market right now. In fact, I lose thousands of dollars every day, but I am buying up as much stock as possible with my investor group. I could lose everything, but that is the risk I am willing to take considering the huge upside. We are going to be in position when the market recovers, while others here continue to whine and complain life is unfair and the cheaters robbed them blind.

I repeat, get over it, and invest in the opportunity staring you in the face! Oh, one more thing. My employees are very well paid and get bonuses - they are not slaves. They may leave whenever they wish.

Sure, I'll get over $700,000,000. It's not it's bank fraud, it's that they are being rewarded for it instead of punished. I can guarantee Hammurabi's Code set up punishments for fradulent money lenders, not rewards. Get over it.

Friends will be friends... we don't want to make him angry, little bonus can't hurt anyone, right??
