If You Don't Like It...Change The Channel

Okay, enough is enough.

I've had it with these threads...

"Why do the gurus do this? Why do they do that?"

Why do they come out with a product every month?

Why do they use long sales copy and bore the hell out of me?

Why do they make videos that bore me to tears?

Why do they email me every single day?

Why this? Why that?

If you don't like what the marketer on the other end is doing....

Change The Damn Channel!!

Nobody is forcing you to...

Buy a product
Opt into a list
Read a sales page
Watch a video

Or anything. YOU choose to do EACH thing that you do in your life.

So if Guru X is promoting a product every month and you're buying them
all...

Whose fault is that?

And if you're NOT buying them, then what do you care what they do?

They're not interfering with YOUR life.

What's that you say? They are because you have to get their damn
emails all the time?

THEN FREAKING UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THEIR LIST FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

How hard IS it?

It is really time for some people to get a life and stop the bitching.

Unlikely. He enjoys it too much.

While this thread may be ironic , there's a valid point here. If you're bitching about getting promo emails, nobody's holding a gun to your head to opt in to somebody else's list. It's called doing something about it instead of whining - which shouldn't *have* to have been pointed out at all, but people apparently don't get it.

Did you know it's rude to talk about other people in front of them as though they're not there?

Don't sweat it. I've learned to ignore this stuff.

Indignant rants are a well established and regular part of Steven's WF persona. He must enjoy it. Recognizing that someone enjoys themselves is hardly rude. Particularly when no malice was intended.

Meh, it's just a minor peeve of mine ("that guy talks a lot and is well-known - let's pick on him!"). Recent discussion about successful people posting in another subforum comes to mind

If it's a distraction for you, take care of it and get rid of it by unsubscribing. I think the issue is you are afraid to miss out on something, so you do not unsubscribe, but then you have to tolerate it. : )

    It's about taking control!

I found recently that I was watching too many "channels" that were nothing but static to me, so I went about unsubbing from blogs and email lists.

I just found myself either archiving or deleting way too many emails...taking way too much of my time...and not even reading a ton of the new blog posts that show unread in my Google Reader.

So, you're right. Change the channel...

    Or just turn it off.
