Using IM skills in Other Areas of Life

I have found IM skills useful in other areas of life how about you?

For instance out sourcing mixing on my music project. Hiring guitar players, and drummer, and a studio to bring my music to a higher profesional level. A.K.A. outsourcing.

Learning from mentors. I.E. Taking dance lessons to improve my skills.

Outsourcing my lawn mowing to have more time to do other things. Etc...

Using copywriting to improve resumes. I also outsourced my resume writing once.

I learned networking skills through IM that I am currnely using to build contacts in the movie industry. So far have meet a Director, a Special Effect person, a director of photograpy, script writer, and movie score composer. These are all local people so far. But it is a start. I found about a networking event and went to it. I meet a director and asked to be in one of his short movies. I emailed him a headshot after that. So who knows I may be in his short film. I am waiting to hear back.

I plan on using my marketing knowledge for both my music and movie projects in the future. I plan on doing press releases. Youtube marketing, etc... This is all contigent that I can get my music and movies up to a professional level of quality first.

    Hi Rob

So true-you see the bigger picture with internet marketing-like I go to my kids playschool and see they have no website and just word of mouth for advertising and I see a business opportunity for me. So many businesses don't know how to promote themselves-this is where we come in!

    kind regards

    Orla

I am working on outsourcing more to get that professionalism. I just like to do some of the stuff my self too. I am thinking of hiring a Director of Photography, sound guy, and lighting person for my next short movie. Maybe a few actors too. I have learned a lot of the basics from the internet on lighting, and cameras. So now I have a better idea.

For my muisc I am getting a lot closer. I am sure I will acheive the professional sound in the future once I find the right people to outsource to. I am also learning on my own how to record. I am building a home recording studio. My plan is to do the rough tracks at home then have them mixed and mastered by a professional. I may outsource some of the instruments again for my new songs. I am planning on learning how to use virtual instruments via midi. I think that could be fun.

The upside to learning how to make films is that I can use that to make my music videos for my music in the future.

    Dear Friend,

IF YOU WANT A HAPPENING PIZZA A MOVIE NIGHT, THIS MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT LETTER YOU'LL EVER READ.

As you can see, I taped a piece of pepperoni to the top of this letter. Why? For two reasons. First, I wanted to make sure I got your attention and hey, who doesn't like pepperoni? Second, I'm writing to tell you about a pizza night that will come to your neighborhood for a very limited time...

[anyone want to continue the sales letter?]
