Still having problems editing WF posts...

Hello Warriors,

When creating or editing posts here in the WF, I cannot get the WYSIWYG editor to function properly.

I cannot see the changes I make in the edit window. Instead, I see the code itself. In other words, as I type this in bold, I do not see bold text, but rather the html code [ b ].

When I preview, it works fine. But this is frustrating for me when I try to edit large portions of text (such as my WSO).

In my WF CP Optons I am set to use "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing"

I just got a new Mac and browse using Safari. Could that be connected? I've tried everything, and I'm just stumped.

Any suggestions? I'd love your help.

Thanks,
Derek

  • Here's a screen shot of what I'm seeing

Notice how there is no a/A icon at the top right of the WYSIWYG editor to switch between code and visual view. The help desk said Safari may not support the visual mode, and I need to use a different browser.

I've tried FF, Chrome, and even...IE for Mac. Nothing.

I could use the editor fine on my old PC. Any Mac users have any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Derek

    • I'm a Mac user.

I just use preview to see what something looks like before posting it.

Is your WSO copy a Novella?

      lol

  • Hi Derek,

    1. Goto your Control Panel and select "Edit Options" from the pull down menu.
    2. On the Edit Options page go down to the section labeled "Miscellaneous Options"
    3. In the "Message Editor Interface" of the section change the settings in the pull down box to "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing"

    See attachment below.

    Hope that Helps,
    Have a Great Day!

    • May be interpreting your question wrong - but if you are referring to the copy you are writing for the post, the tags are going to show until you preview or post your comment.

That's true no matter what editor you are using to post here.

    • Thanks Michael.

Unfortunately, I'm already set there. That option is already enabled.

That's why I've been left scratching my head :-)

  • Derek,

After you changed the WYSIWYG settings did you log out and then log back in?

If you haven't already done so you should try it.

    Have a Great Day!
