I doubt this movie was ever shown outside Ireland, but here's what Miles does when he's not on the Enterprise. (I would give a "strong language" warning but you all probably won't understand their accents anyway, so why bother .)

    WEIRD! Did he supposedly do what I think he did?(I overlooked the title of this thread, figuring it was a come on) I've seen non humans do that to objects, but a HUMAN doing it to ANOTHER!?!?!?

    This doesn't jive with the nice tourism ads ireland has in the US. 8-(

    BTW I have seen Colm in comedies and dramas, and I think he can do ok. HERE, they probably wanted him to make it CLEAR what he was doing, and it may not have been something he really liked. So I would have expected it to come off as weird and out of place.
