First ones I had where called Rocky Mt. Oysters.
          Real funny story about that.
I was at a farm in Unidilla and 6 of us rough tough bikers where being served rocky mt. oysters. One guy asked what they where. Sheep balls was the reply.
4 of the guys ran out of the farm house puking. Myself and the other country boy just laughed and kept on eating. I'd say they acted like little girls, but the farmers little girl was sitting there eating them up with me and the other guy. Needless to say I still rub it in when ever I get the chance.

I think the name of the "dish" depend on where you live - they were "kentucky" when I lived in Ohio. Guess that makes them a local delicacy.

I wouldn't have run screaming but would have a hard time taking another bite of that once I knew what it was. That would be a hard one for those guys to live down.

              Still is 30 years later
If I'm eating something and I don't know what it is, I'll keep eating after I find out if I liked it.
My father was into the 'weirder' cuts of meat like sweetbreads, tongue, trioe, etc. So many meal conversations when I was a kid where "what's this?", "try it first". Even then my father knew if I liked it it didn't matter if it was cow pies, I'd keep on eating.
